  1. Try pressing the throttle slightly whilst you turn the starter over, I have the same slow starter speed but pressing the throttle slightly definitely helps.
  2. Thanks Brent I'll check it out now. I'm amazed though that emerald don't have a map for a standard spec engine like mine ☹️
  3. does anyone have an Emerald map for a standard 2litre Zetec, with TB's, and a decent 4-1 exhaust manifold, which they can email me. The map provided with the ECU is for a engine with 285 cams, and although the car will start, it misfires above tickover, and Emerald can't fit me in for mapping till end of March ☹️ - thanks
  4. 3 cyl water cooled 2 stroke - nice ride!!
  5. Pedal box is a lotus item, and ought to be repairable if you have one that is? Steering rack is from Mk1 escort sport, it's made by burman part no is right hand drive - RHD 7H4101 - left hand drive LHD 7H4102 this is easy to find , check out the Ford escort sites - cost ought to be 30-40 UK pounds. I don't want to try and talk you out of your project, but and it's a big but the parts you listed are impossible to find, even the standard 5.5J lotus steel wheels are real hard to find in UK, in Germany well all I can say is good luck. If you sell all the parts you have then you will almost have enough to buy a complete car, I wish I had sold my project and saved myself plenty of hassle. once again good luck, I have many spare S4 parts but none of those which you list. out of interst I'm still looking for the bonnet lock, which has proven impossible to locate. Ihad to make an original looking stering wheel and horn push which is important for the look of the car. - lety me know how you get on - good luck
  6. be easier to sell the bits you have and buy a complete car, most of the bits you want are not available new, and impossible to find, I know - I needed most of these too & to date it's taken me 5 years, though I have now completed my car. - good luck
  7. as dave say's it's 70's iron, but like him are you Hip[py] enough to remember?? *cool*
  8. as dave say's it's 70's iron, but like him are you Hip[py] enough to remember?? *cool*

  10. martyn - that's very cool of you, I've emailed you my address. Thank you Very much
  11. Thanks - any help appreciated, I guess most people who had dynamo's fitted to their cars have already swopped them.
  12. you have 5/16 UNF it's the allen key size which is the give away, all 8mm capheads use a 6mm allen key, whatever the pitch of the thread.
  13. Easiest solution is to measure recess and thread & get one machined from copper, which can then be reused again and again.
  14. Anyone know how to wire an alternator in place of the original dynamo? The alternator has only 2 wires [thick & thin] whereas the dynamo Voltage regulator, has 5 marked :- E - D - WL - F + B. I assume some of these have to be joined, but which to which - HELP
