Hi Chris, thanks for your experiences. The plan is for Rik to try them on his car first. With 205 yoko A048's there was more clearance than can be seen in your pics and no one ever pointed out there being an issue. I've sent a couple of pics to Rik for him to judge for himself.

I've been with the AA for 25 years now and always had good service when ever I've called them out for various cars and motorbikes. I had reason to call them out when oil pump sprung a leak in the Caterham and they were very careful when recovering the car. The advantage is you are covered not the car so if you drive various vehicles can be cost effective.

In the garage I have what I assume is a 4" exhaust silencer, well the diameter measures to 4". Pipe to manifold is 2" and is of the side exit type. Might suit an older crossflow. It was given to me by the previous owner of my car as he'd put a bigger can on to reduce noise levels. Looks to be solid enough but it's had a plastic caught on the bottom and burnt on a bit but should clean off. It's been stored in my garage a few years. As I've no idea what this would sound like on the car or what the internals are like then I'm not after any money for it but if it turns out any good maybe you could put a couple of quid in to nuke the luke. If it turns out no use then all it has cost you is a bit of time. Alan - now Sevenless

A pair of un used BMW Cycle Holders part no. B82.72.0.137.716. still in the boxes. £110 for the pair. These fit the T-Slot in BMW roof bars. You'll need you own bars as roof bars not included in this sale. Bikes are locked to the carrier for security. Pics here I bought these to use on my 3-series but never got round to using them before some idiot wrote the car off for me. I sold my roof bars a while ago as I replaced the BM with something else. I kept hold of the carriers as I thought I'd be able to use them on a set of Thule roof bars. I could get them to fit with some minor mods to the mounts but thought if I could get back roughly what I'd paid for them, mate of mine had 25% discount at BMW, then to make life a bit easier I'll get some Thule carriers. LOL... Mickrick..... That was supposed to read "I'd rather check out it's authenticity THAN be called a con man" But I'd hit enter before I realised and it was too late to change it.

I decided to terminate the auction as I want more time to verify what it is I am selling. Problem is there is nothing on the book indicating if this is a reprint/copy so you don't know what you are selling/buying. Are Lotus Books entitled to sell their copies or are these dodgy? A useful book to have but not worth paying anymore than you would do for any "haynes" manual.
