  1. Quoting anthonym: What was it in the end? Still looking for defects?
  2. 125 to 140 bhp Supersport upgrade: New cams, flywheel, air filter, rad: £2274 (plus free fitting). here 125 to 150 bhp upgrade: New cams, throttle bodies, hoses, ECU: £2274 here Why not combine the two into one upgrade, and see what they get? Oh, sorry, neither available at the moment, so it's not really worth thinking about 😬 Richy
  3. Agreed. Get the stainless, but armourfend around the outside & top of them. They don't cover all the stone chip area. I found that out driving to/from the IVA. Richy
  4. Michael, I had same problem a couple of years ago with my new build. The clutch was bled thoroughly, so I had to make slight adjustment to the master cylinder shaft length to enable more travel. If I recall, it was less than 1mm adjustment.

    O/T Shower Pumps

Thanks Pat - good tip re. the ball valves. Any preferences over S-T or Grundfos regarding reliability in hard water areas? Or are they all much the same. Cheers, Richy
  6. Calling all plumbers (or 'would-be' plumbers as well!) Have had a Mira ppt3 shower pump for the last 11 years. Hard water area, so have had to replace the mechanical shaft seals twice in that time. Now it's finally failed, I need a replacement. The ppt3 is no longer available. Possible replacements may be Stuart-Turner or Grundfos Niagra. The pump needs to supply 2 showers (though generally not both in use at the same time), positive suction head (not mains supply, but from tanks). Hoping for suggestions for a new pump, without major modification of existing pipework... Cheers, Richy
  7. Richy, Re power point , is that the cigarette lighter type Yep, that's the one. I've fitted two on the passenger side under the dash - there's a good vertical panel there (just behind the battery) which makes running the wires dead easy. Don't forget SM25T's advice on the fuse More details if you search BC. Richy
  8. Alan, I had the same problem with my new car. I have to leave it garaged for 2 months at a time, so now have an Optimate plugged in through a power socket under the dash, and it starts first attempt. Richy
  9. Happy memories - trying to balance the plug on the tip of your fingers at 1am on a freezing winter's night with dripping gear oil making it so easy to hold on to 😬 Good luck Alex
  10. I made sure the garage door was shut & the radio on as I didn't want my children to hear the swearing! There's no end of times when my daughter reminds me of this... her room was above the garage. She learnt some new words....
  11. Just measured mine, this year's supply - 12mm Richy
  12. a garage compressor will be somewhat dry but much less so as the resevoir is a much lower pressure the effect is reduced. it will also have some oil in the air. In my experience, garage/tyre fitter's compressed air receivers are very often full of water as the condensate quickly builds up and is not drained regularly.
  13. Um, just a guess - something to do with Felipe Massa's engine stats at the German GP?
  14. I use a solar one on the tin-top - Maplins £9.99 IIRC. Wouldn't be much use in the garage though Optimate for my 7 🥰
  15. *arrowup*My hazard switch was knackered when I went for PBC....at 2 months old (the car, not me 😬). They're carp.
  16. Can you disconnect the starter +ve cable, bump-start it, and then drive it onto a trailer? Or even then drive it to Milwoods, trying not to stall on the way? Richy
  17. Hijack: Anybody got those panoramic 'Mirrors for Sevens'? Richy
  18. Yes, Anthony. The fittings that came with mine were the correct length, so no cutting was required. I fit them to the middle stanchion bolt hole. Easy to remove when required. I do have full sidescreens, so they obstruct the opening to 90 degrees. Richy.
  19. Mine (from RiF) came with fittings to attach to windscreen stanchion - removing one of the existing bolts. Just have to watch the new bolt length - too long and you'll crack the screen.
