  1. Testing reply posting speed
  2. Ah well - at least the readers from Scunthorpe will be happy.
  3. But what would happen if, in the meantime, someone had posted a thread with the same title?
  4. I failed to find my copy of the porting video but I have discovered that it was filmed in 2001 by Lorne Mason and he sold copies of it via the se7ens.net list. Does anyone still have a copy knocking about?
  5. Ahhh - Unfortunately Pinterest is blocked here at work - that is probably why I can't see the pictures.
  6. Am I supposed to be able to see pictures attached to these posts?
  7. I have a bigger problem if I connect from work. They have a cacheing proxy and I get the following: Connect to lotus7.club Click on Blatchat - notice that I am not logged in Click Login - log in, get shown my profile (grrr - why can't it put me back where I was!!) Click on Blatchat - receive cached page that shows I'm NOT logged on Sigh heavily and press F5 to avoid going around in circles.
  8. Nigel - I haven't checked, but I suspect that the serial cable is not wired straight through pin-to pin. It quite possibly has the Receive pin connected to the Transmit pin at the other end (and vice versa)
  9. I did this about 10 years ago. I was lucky enough to have Mr Oilyhands himself as mentor (he was still an "amateur" in those days. Dave ported one inlet and one exhaust for me and sent me away to tackle the other 14. As I recall, the trick was to have a set of old valves which you turned down to different diameters and then used these in turn to check that the throats were both circular and the right diameter. I'm sure that I had a VHS video of Dave demonstrating his techniques - possibly filmed by Bernard Scouse? I'll have a dig around to see if I still have it (and see if my VHS machine is still working)
  10. You just have to treat it as a word processor. CR is a new paragraph so you get a paragraph break Shift-CR is just a new line I think a little tweak to the CCS Style Sheet might help p { margin-bottom: 1.4em; } seems to be the culprit. Looks like it's better with the Stylish thingy taking it down to 0.5em
  11. What you need to do is to learn the names of the few you want to use. Then you just type them in with *'s either side (oh- and don't forget to leave a blank around them too) e.g. byebye biggrin wink
  12. I reported an issue in what I thought to be the appropriate place. I didn't say it was high priority or needed an urgent fix. <mutters>Bloomin' high-faluting members with admin permissions and their fancy paragraphs</mutters>
  13. Meh - it's a bug. I reported it in the Bugs section.
  14. I just discovered that, in the New and Updated view, the "Show new and updated topics in:" dropdown lists dozens of obsolete forum sections.
  15. Ah - I checked my profile and under the Advanced section I found that my time-zone was set to "Helsinki" I am fairly sure that I never set it to that Anyway, I changed it to London and the times look much better. Has anyone else got an odd time-zone?
  16. if they are surrounded by blanks test with a space testwithoutaspace*smile* test with just a preceding space *smile*x
  17. The time is 13:12 and I noticed that the most recent post on chitchat had a posting time of 15:09 I wonder what time this post will show as Edit: It showed as 15:15 _ thinks: maybe I need to check my profile to see if it has a time zone setting Oh - and the emoticons don't seem to be working either*banghead*
  18. Is it that easy to mount a DoS attack on a user? Could I, for example - no malice intended - attempt to signon 5 times as JK and get him blocked?
  19. If a user has a long name and/or location then the date and time of posting is not being displayed. e.g. stevethemook here
  20. There is a blue "breadcrumb" line near the top that (IMHO due to a bug) reads Home>Forum>Forums This should read Home>Forums>Suggestions but anyway... If you click on Forum it will take you to the list of forums. If you click on Forums it will take you to the list of topics in this forum
  21. That difference is caused by the query having to check the time that you last viewed each thread to tell you if there are any new posts. If you are not logged on it doesn't do this check.
  22. Clicking "New and Updated" takes around 7 seconds for me - Firebug shows that over 6.5 seconds of that is waiting for a response, the actual data transfer takes less than half a second. I get similar results for Active
  23. Indeed - I don't get offered Full HTML
  24. Is this still available - my son is looking for a laser printer. Contact me ray at gofaster plus com - insert dots Jeez, I wish we still had blatmail - I hate publishing my email address for spammers to pick up.
