  1. Understandable confusion between Dave H and Dave_H I don't think this is Dave Hollington, Chris
  2. If you change your tyres and the rolling diameter is different, what difference will the location of the sensor make? A sensor on the front wheel will count revolutions of the wheel. One on the gearbox output will count revolutions of the propshaft, divide this by your diff ratio and you are back to wheel revolutions. Also, if you go for the wheel sensor, you will need to fix a magnet (or similar) to each different wheel you are likely to use, which can bugger up your wheel balancing. (Unless the sensor is picking up from the hub) What benefits do you expect from a wheel sensor?

    Weight

How to Weigh your A**e (The Archimedes weigh) 1) Fill a bowl with water 2) Arrange several bathroom scales around bowl 3) Assume a 'spider' position above bowl balanced on scales 4) Take readings from scales and add them up 5) Dunk A**e in water 6) Take further readings As water is approximately the same density as A**e, the difference between the two readings is approximately the A**e weight. 5. Paul, is your car almost 3 years old? I and several others had this problem with the fog light. It appears that Caterhams supplier changed the type of plastic used which meant they turned grey and brittle if any fuel touched them and as they are immediately underneath the filler ... When I reported it to them, they immediately sent me a replacement, but... it was a complete pig to replace. I had to loosen the fuel tank straps which allowed the tank to move forwards an inch which gave me access to the bolts. I notice that some people have them mounted dangling below the bodywork - this would seem to be a more sensible location, but I don't want to have to fill the old holes. Do they do 'dangly fogs/reverse' to order on new cars? I didn't see it as an option on the order form! Ray Pearce
  6. You don't mention which engine you have. But if (as I suspect) it is a K series, I have a cam locking tool you could borrow. I live in Uckfield but work in Crawley - any use?
  7. Fog lights will only work when you have dipped headlights on.

    Creaky Rear

I had a creak which was caused by the rear wing flange touching the radius arm where it is bolted to the body under the wing. Loosening off the wing and enlarging the notch in the flange sorted it. That is, until I needed to replace the wing, when I didn't cut the notch big enough and the creak came back! Ray

  10. You mean the orange car with no number plate? Or that grotty looking off-red thing?
