  1. Hoses are braded, look the same as the standard CC ones except for the banjo end. RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  2. Sorry hoses need to have a metric banjo connection to fit to the new calipers. RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  3. Having special ones made at the moment through RS. Think GKN are fabricating them. They will be the same as on the other V8's Russell has built. He found the standard ones broke very easily!!!! I am unsure what the Quaiffe diff is I am getting. I need to collect it from RS. 4. Mick, The clearance of the yokes are non existent. It is very tight to get the prop in even excluding the flange. Let me know when you have a length as we may be able to help I think the tunnel width is the same on the SV as the standard chassis. 5. HiSpec have sold the 4 pot for the 232 / 10 disc. It is not the recommended route but if fellow seveners are happy then I will not argue. I do not have first hand experience and every seven car is different not to mention how it is driven. There have been problems in the past with parts supplied by HiSpec that do not fit. As far as I know there has not been problems with performance of the kit once installed. By being their distributor for Caterham we have been ironing out all the problems. Now every kit comes through us and we double check. We are working closely with HiSpec to solve the last few problems we have on the rear calipers at the moment. The problem HiSpec have had is that they supply loads of different makes and models of cars and cannot specialise in just the Caterham. This is what we are doing. It has not been easy but with the help of a Club member (thanks John ) we have steadily solved the problems. 6. Been checking sizes today. I have a 13" MB wheel with an internal diameter of 320mm. The 275mm disc and caliper fit Surprised!!! Just enough clearance by the weights, just though!!! With the 260mm disc and the caliper on to the vertical it measures 290mm diameter. That will give just enough room for weights so long as they are put on correctly (flat) if a wheel is 300mm id. Colour, really trying to stick to black anodised but as a special I can do other colours but there will be a delay and may be a surcharge (will have to see). Rears available too. Just trying not to complicate the bulk buy but I will give the same discount on rears but not the handbrake cable (just no margin in getting these made for us). 7. Changing the tunnel top with gaiters has solved many heat build up problems. I know of a good supplier RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7

  10. I don't know if anybody can tell me whether the vertical uprights on the front hub assembly on a Series 2 and 3 Lotus 7 are similar to the current Caterham models? What I really need to know is whether or not it is possible to simply bolt a new calliper that would fit a current model onto the vertical. Many thanks. 11. Pooh, I can answer a few of your questions re the HiSpec brakes. For measurements click here HiSpec do not think an uprated master cylinder is required although it does work with an upgraded version. It will effect general pedal feel so it will depend on individuals choice. The ideal size master cylinder is between the standard and the uprated. These brakes are a straight bolt on. No hub modification. The UL2 and UL4 will fit behind a 13" wheel. Even the bigger R114 will. Bigger rims not a problem. More info on brake pads surface contact etc see here Cannot answer the questions re the Alcon or give any comparison as to how they perform. Hopefully someone here will have some first hand info RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  12. It really is an amazing weight saving 😬 I though carbon saved weight but this option is cheaper and better Oh should not be saying that 😳 Would be interested in anyone who has swapped from AP too. I understand this to be the case: There is an AP 4-pot caliper with 253mm ventilated disc offered by Caterham as an upgrade. This upgrade does not maximise the use of the pad to disc and is heavier than the UL4 equivalent. The UL4 caliper offers a pad with 48mm by 76mm while the AP4 caliper is only 38mm by 60mm. From this you can see there is a significant amount more pad contact with the disc. If so then there should be noticable improvement. 14. Thank you for the additional replies, that's great to have complete confirmation. I forgot to ask but, out of interest, does anybody know the weight of the original Caterham rear calipers? Might as well get all my facts together. Thanks again for all your help. RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
  15. Dave, Seperate bells and rotors. Saves a fair amount compared to the solid cast all in one version. There are some pics in the parts section of my build site www.lu07tus.com. Done this for the front 275mm ventilated discs and the rear 260mm ventilated ones. Now I am not increasing the weight with the brakes the only thing I have to worry about is the uprated driveshafts, due any day 😬 Hope they are not too heavy RiF Building a real super SUPER 7 with a V6 😬 😬 😬.For Build Pictures and LOTS of Carbon or try CA07BON for Henrietta's 7
