  1. Well, as it happens, having now sold my CSR, I have a set of 3 piece lightweight Compomotive wheels in black with the correct CSR offsets etc. They were hellish expensive when new, but I guess I would want around £750 now for the set. If interested BM me with your email address and I'd be pleased to send you some pictures. Paul
  2. If the blue aeroscreened car had flared wings it is most likely to have been Angus Davidson (of Angus and Tessa fame). He is spending some time in our neck of the woods with his folks I believe. A good couple of spots Paul.
  3. Just as Nick says, they are next to useless out of the box, but put the lower half into boiling water for a couple of minutes and carefully bend them inwards so that they will stick out into the airstream more and they work quite well. I would say they are worth getting and modifying.
  4. There are plenty of rolling roads, but I haven't heard of any good suspension specialists in our neck of the woods. I have done it myself in the past with 4 sets of bathroom scales, the old fashioned analogue sort you can find on Gumtree for pennies. They work well, but you have to be patient with the set up. It could be worth contacting Simon, our AR, he does a lot of sprinting and lives in N. Som. so may know someone up at that end of the county. If you find someone closer than Jon at Millwood, let us know.
  5. Hi David, I do have one that is surplus to requirements now that I've got a standard sized car again. I haven't look at it for a few years, but it hasn't had miuch use, probably only used half a dozen times, but I will drag it out of the loft later, but I think it is a duck material, (not vinyl), and it has an easy entry zip or two, comes complete with a bag and rear enclosure when parked. I don't know what sort of price I want, but will research it and let you know. If you send me your email address, I will take a few pictures and send them on so you can see what it is like.
  6. Hi Ivaan, yes I've still got Charlies old R1 Seven, now a fully civilised road going car with carpets, heater, full weather equipment, 15" CR500's and an electric reverse. BECs are interesting cars, a sort of A - A car in that you go for your blat for a couple of hours, drive like a loony (not me of course), then come back home and put the car away for another few weeks, because they are so intense. I have a pal in the same village who put a Busa engine into his Seven and he finds the same. I have driven on reasonable journeys too, but if I have a choice, I seem to gravitate towards a car with doors, wind up windows and a radio. How many others on here have a BEC?
  7. So, there is only the space left. The power of BC eh?
  8. Welcome to BC, if I may say so, a slightly more descriptive subject line and an idea of your price might be useful Moleman.
  9. Hi Martin, now you mention it, I've got an unused 21 catalyst knocking around somewhere, is this useful to you (or any other 21 owner)? Sorry though, I can't afford to give it away, but a sensible offer would secure it.
  10. Go on, be a devil and give us an idea of your valuation. I could do with a spare pair, but being the tight fisted sod that I am, wouldn't want to pay too much for them, say 20 quid the pair?? Would that do it? If not think of a price, I can only say "yes, no or maybe". Paul.
  11. Hi Rob, I have got just what you want, but sadly, it is new and unused, still in its' Ford box. Sadly, because it means I want a really good offer of around the 4 figure mark - (£1001 would do it, probably stlll less than it cost me from Caterham). I also have a guaranteed quiet, Ford 15,000 miles 3.9, with ZF lim. slip internals, and a 3.38 Ford open as well, if of interest to you or anyone else. BM for further info. Paul.
  12. I wouldn't be afraid of selling privately, why give a dealer, nice as they all are, a cut of the value? It really isn't too much effort, if you haven't sold a car privately before, just follow a few simple common sense rules. Basically value your 310 against others on the market , knock a bit off the dealers price because you aren't giving a warranty and get it advertised. I've found Pistonheads works quite well. Be warned though that most of the dealers will give you a ring offering to sell it for you or to buy it at a lower price so they can sell on. Nothing wrong with that, of course, just depends on how you feel about it.
  13. Just keep the 3.6 diff, but knock the six speeder on the head. The ratios are far too close for cruising and 6th is far too short, even with a 3.38 cwp, get hold of a standard 5 speed type 9, get BGH Geartec to put a longer 1st and 2nd into it and Bobs your uncle, a perfectly drivable and delightful Seven. The point is, that 6 speeds does not make the gearbox right for the car. Fine if it is to be used mainly on the track or hooning on the road, but as soon as you feel like cruising, you can't. You want a top gear that will give you around 3500 revs at 80mph. Use the Gearcalc calculator and see if I'm not right. Just Google it.
  14. Have a look at the advert and pictures over on Pistonheads here:- https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/caterham/all-models/170bhp-yamaha-r1-bike-engined-caterham-seven-2001/9637580 Get back to me with any questions. Paul.
  15. If Big Col can't find his, I bought a couple from a local caravan accessory shop for a tenner the pair in their sale. They were often used in older caravans and are a lot cheaper than Caterham sources.
  16. Will this also fit a standard chassis Seven?
  17. Does anyone have a pair of 15" CR500 tyres they want to sell please? I don't want worn out ones suitable only for the track, but relatively young tyres with a fair bit of tread please (well, as much tread as a CR500 gets anyway). I would consider a single tyre as well, in the hope of finding another at some time.
  18. Does anyone have an old headrest available they would like to sell, two would be even better. Condition isn't too important, but the better the better, IYSWIM. I would even be interested in buying the whole seat if that was available, cloth or leather it isn't to important.
  19. I may still have a spare pre-bent OE Caterham under dash handbrake lever knocking around somewhere, if it is any help, I will have a look and see if I can find it and send you a PM Barry.
  20. I assume you eventually found a genuine buyer on Ebay? If not drop me a PM I could well be interested. Ta, Paul.
  21. Hi Charlie, I've got a set of 4 Ford PCD Minilite replica wheels and oldish soft compound tyres, can't remember what make offhand, as they've been in my attic for years, but whatever was supplied as standards back in the early 2000's. Does around £95 for the 4 sound fair? I'm just outside Taunton, near J25 of the M5 if it is of any help. Paul
  22. If you change your mind Paul, can I have 2nd dibs please? Many thanks, Paul
  23. I doubt it is a sticking cable. If it was, working it a few times before the first start would get rid of the rev hang, and why should the cable only be sticky when cold? Nope it is more likely something to do with emission regs. or mapping I bet. Although it does seem to happen with roller barrel setups more often, so maybe this could be worth investigating - speak to the manufacturer of the RBs. Don't forget to let us know what the answer is, so we can benefit too.
  24. I have this same problem on a Cosworth 2l. 220bhp Duratec, fitted with roller barrel throttle, but not certain if it is a mechanical problem, which should be easy enough to check, maybe a stronger spring, or likely to be software, as some developers build in this 'rev hang' to burn up excess fuel when cold because of emissions legislation. I would say it is worth speaking to a rolling road specialist about it if you can't sort the mechanical side.
