  1. I changed my under dash lever to a Midget tunnel mounted vertical lever, so might still have the original lever knocking around somewhere. Now that I know it's a valuable item, I will certainly instigate a thorough search. I can recommend this alteration, unless an owner is dead set on keeping the car original, it is a much better option. It can be reached whilst strapped in, and the leverage is better (for autotesting etc). I've done it on at least 3 Sevens over the years and it is certainly something I would recommend doing. David, if you are still missing that little £38 bit, I may have one knocking around as well. PM me and let me know if you still want it and I'll see what I've got in my 'box of bits'. Paul
  2. The next best thing to a Rocket would be a.............................................Yamaha R1 engined S3 Seven, and as it happens, I just happen to have a nice one for sale at a very reasonable £17,750 (See pictures on Pistonheads). Sorry for the highjack James, I hope you don't mind?
  3. On a very early Seven with an under dash handbrake, I remember stopping on a hill for a roadworks red light and thinking, this will take a while so I'd better put on the handbrake, which I did. The lights were red for so long that when we finally had a green, I'd forgotten all about the handbrake and only when I stopped 20 miles further on, did I smell the brake linings. Anyway after letting them cool down with handbrake off, they seemed fine, actually the handbrake properly worked, so it obviously took the glaze off. Anyway the point is that after that, I changed to a vertical tunnel mounted brake. The first one I did used a Morgan flyoff lever, but must have been made by a blacksmith, it weighed so much, after that I used MG Midget items. It's quite an easy job but means working tight up under the car on axle stands. I've recently done it again with my current Seven, an ex academy car and it works a treat. Well worth a couple of hours to do the job.

  6. Good idea, thanks Igor. The label on the propshaft shows the following info:- Part No. 72290 I can also confirm that it does have grease nipples fitted.
  7. Did you see my reply in your other post?

  9. I've got a set of 3 piece Image split rims with the right CSR offsets. They're in black and look fabulous, (but I would say that), They are a steal at £650, the new cost is around the £1500 - £2000 mark, maybe more now, I haven't checked the new price recently.
  10. This propshaft came out of an early CSR 200 5 speed car and I understand it had only done 7,000 miles. According to the CC online parts site it will also fit an SV and cost around £180. Offers close to £90? (Plus P+P or collect from Taunton area.)
  11. The 3.62 open diff, is a complete new and unused item, ready to install into a chassis. Doctor is now not interested, so if anyone else is after something like this, it is still available along with the other items.
  12. The repackable silencer and wishbone are now sold - thank you Igor, the Image 3 piece, CSR offset wheels are still for sale, as is the Caterham 7" silencer and the wide rear wings, which will fit all Sevens of course.
  13. Updated to say that I am surprised not to have received any interest in any of these diffs, as they are all desirable, if you think they are overpriced, don't hold back, giver me your valuation, I can either say "yes", "no" or "maybe"!
  14. Hi Charlie, I've got a 3.92 Ford Diff. with what I'm pretty sure is a ZF plate LSD for sale. It came out of a 2001 ex Grads car,has done around 22,000 miles and is really quiet in operation. I'm asking £1,195 ono. I've got in in the 'Market Place' but you obviously didn't see it there? If this is of interest please BM me. Paul.
  15. Hi Igor, I'm afraid I don't know, it was already in the car when I bought it - an ex academy 1600 k series. It drove well, with no noise or undue slipage. In fact I had to jack it up and rotate the wheels to check that there was a LSD in there.
  16. Pictures now sent, but I forgot to mention the wings are 13" / 330mm wide and in generally good condition with no damage other than the usual swirl marks from cleaning and small stone chips on the front face.
  17. Just a couple of bits and pieces and a set of CSR specific Image split rim alloys:- Left hand lower aero wishbone in as new condition complete with bearing - £50 + P&P Silencers: 1 x 7" Caterham supplied track silencer - £150 + P&P 1 x 7" Repackable, origin unkown - £195 + P&P Complete set of black Image 3 piece wheels with CSR specific offsets - £650.00 + P&P 1 pair of extra wide rear wings in black - £95 Would fit all models. + P&P If anyone is interested BM me with an email address and I will send on pictures. Paul.
  18. Rear light lenses - they are often used on older caravans and are still sometimes kept in stock in caravan shops. I bought a pair for a few quid a year ago at Martins Caravans, Execeter (owned by Chris Martins, (Coldplay) family). It even had the shaped rubber blocks.
  19. Great, thanks for letting us know Andrew. In the meantime, if anyone wants a bare Ali HPC bonnet that has been hacked around a bit, but otherwise in perfect condition, BM me for a picture. (Sorry about the thread hijack Andrew, figured you were OK now?)
  20. I've decided to clear my collection of Ford original diff. units. The most interesting is a 3.92 ZF LSD off a 2001 1600k grads. car. approx 22,000 miles and quiet as a very quiet thing. £1,195.00 A brand new, unused 3.6 open Ford diff, unused supplied to me with a CSR, but I substituted a 3.3 LSD unit, so now surplus to requirements. Presume quiet, as it was a new Ford unit, (not recon. CC unit) £850.00 A used 3.3 open Ford diff. Never used, bought as a spare, no history but assume quiet, but no guarantee £500.00 Please BM me if of interest.
  21. I've got a bare ali bonnet, originally off an early '90's HPC Vx 2.0l The only trouble is it has a cut out on the opposite side for an over the chassis exhaust system. I guess it could be filled in, or fit an actual set of over the chassis primaries. Anyway, I don't want much for it, say £25, so if there is a bit of money to spend on it, you should still be in funds, BM me if interested and I can send some pictures. Paul.
  22. Has anyone got a spare single or two 13" trailer wheels with or without tyres? With a 5.5" PCD otherwise also after 1 or 2 165/13 heavy duty tyres for my trailer. All or anything considered. BM me, thanks, Paul
  23. Bu66er triple post - apologies.

  25. In the days that I was looking to give a little more clearance under the sump on my 260, I played around with raising the front ride height to see what would happen - bump steer is what happened, this disappeared as soon as I lowered it. In the end, as detailed elsewhere, I just raised the engine a bit, but that's another story. So, just try dropping the ride height a bit James, and see what happens.
