  2. That’s great. It aligns with what we were thinking that the standard cable should fit. Thank you I will have a look over the weekend to check matt
  3. Hi all Looking for a spare throttle cable to take to trackdays for my 1.8K series with roller barrel throttle bodies. Had a bit of trouble trying to work out what throttle cable will fit. Had a long conversation with Redline who were very helpful but were also not sure if the standard K series throttle cable will work. Does anyone know? Mine is a similar setup to a K series R400 so i would hope there could be a simple solution Regards Matt
  4. Thank you all for the replies. I feel reassured now whist also accepting that no solution seems perfect. I'll just keep the oil nice and fresh and well topped up. Regards Matt
  5. Hi all, I apologise as i know this has been discussed before and i have read previous posts.... However i would appreciate some wisdom please... 1.8 k series R400 spec DVA tuned, with an Apollo tank. Just completed my first track day in this car at Snetterton and noticed on the mechanical oil pressure gauge significant oil pressure drop off in corners, particularly right handers such as Montreal where pressure would drop to around 20 - 30 psi. Car is on Toyo 888's. From internet research i believe this is pressure at the pump and as the oil pickup is on the right of the sump for a while pressure at the pump drops thus the pressure drop. i also believe that the Apollo tank provides oil during this situation? I know a dry sump is the answer but i am not sure i can stomach the cost at the moment. I don't know if this car has foam in the sump or the gasket mod as performed to my last 7. Is this pressure drop off likely to cause damage or does the apollo 'fill the gaps'? thanks for reading Matt
  6. Thought i would give an update on this as might be of interest. I finally purchased a Reverie Carbon airbox, had it fitted and then re rolling road to chexk that the A/F tune was ok still since fitting the box. It was slight re-tuned to ensure the air fuel ratio was still on the safe side and i was impressed to see that it only lost 3 bhp with the Reverie box fitted.(its only a couple of months since the last tune on the same rollers) Attended my first day at Snetterton 300 yesterday and had no issues with either the static (91dB) or drive by noise restrictions. Matt
  7. Brian James Minno High level tyre rack. Good condition although does have one slight dent in the lower bar and no cable, neither of which hinders usability. I have always used straps to secure wheels. Located on Suffolk / Essex border. Photos on request, drop me a message on here or matt351b@googlemail.com £200
  8. Looks really neat fitted, i've just ordered the same parts but apparently there is a 4 week backorder on the backplates despite the website saying they are in stock. Are you re-tuning the car? I've just rolling roaded mine and don't know if its prudent to stick it back on the rollers to check the fuelling hasn't changed due to different airflow? Matt
  9. That makes sense and spreads the cost too if you want the other bit at a later day. Have you had chance to fit it yet? I'm just about to pull the trigger on the Reverie box, keep flitting between that and the actual Pipercross box as that can be changed over quickly but like the idea that the Reverie is similar to the Caterham supplied box Matt
  10. When i priced up the Reverie from the link in the email they sent me it came to nearly £700. I priced items both individually and the Silverstone Caterham kit that they sell. If it was £450 i would probably make the jump of buying it. did you just buy some of the parts? i note they are including a carbon air splitter which i wasn't sure was required. I assume as it comes with a backplate its not quickly interchangeable back to running no airbox between trackdays? Matt
  11. Hi all Know its a very long shot but looking for the Caterham R500 K series airbox for roller barrell throttle bodies. If you have a spare one please let me know. regards Matt
  12. Thank you for the replies. Initially i still have the question of will the roller barrels trip the drive by at Snetterton? the car is basically an R400 k series but with a big silencer so only induction noise would be the issue. If likely, i will invest in an airbox, looks like the Caterham one is hard to source, the Pipercross one looks like the quickest change over if required as fit on the same backplate. I have read some concerns about this airbox strangling power? Does anyone have any experience of this airbox? Matt
  13. I appreciate this may be done to death, however I am looking for some opinions on drive by noise restrictions on track with my Caterham, particularly induction based. It has a dustbin sized silencer that is repackable and very quiet, significantly quieter than my previous Caterham so no concerns on exhaust based noise. However I have a K series with Roller Barrells, Pipercross filter but no cut out on the bonnet. Its loud on WOT and I am concerned that this could be close to tripping the drive by limits? Likely tracks I will be using are Snetterton, (mostly), Brands (occasionally) and Cadwell (hopefully). Will this be an issue for the drive by? I have seen airboxes such as this: http://www.emeraldm3d.com/auto-teknix-airbox-caterham-7-r500-kit.html which obviously needs a filter too. Is this a good solution if there is a potential issue? I’d rather not spend the money but that’s preferable than taking a day off work and being kicked off track for noisy induction. Any other suggestions please general or other airboxes? I’ve just had the car tuned on a rolling road, if this airbox is fitted does it need retuning with the airbox due to change in airflow? I’d rather run on road without the box for the extra bark Many thanks Matt
  14. Quick update, finally got to have a look at the car after being away on my honeymoon. Detaching the throttle cable and the roller barrels shut immediately so can discount those. The tension looks like its in the throttle pedal bolt, i have eased that off slightly and the barrels shut a lot quicker now. I haven't had chance to drive it yet as its still up on axle stands, however everything seems a lot more freely moving now. Hopefully the pedal is not too soft though Thank you all for the replies and messages. Matt
