  1. Does anyone here know what wheel & slick tyre sizes are used by the eurocup cars? L7 FUN
  2. Thanks to Simon & Mel I already have my 235 medium rears (K60) and am looking forward to receiving the softs rears once the plane touches down! Mark D don't worry ,if there's a problem you can you can use my last years soft 175's on the back . They are only just buffed up L7 FUN
  3. I didn't know Lawrence at all, but looking at the pics of his car tonight made me smile. You can see his character in the mods and the style - like all of us slightly eccentric & pleasantly bonkers . L7 FUN
  4. *wavey*Hello Mick, Angus, I am afraid that my limited knowledge of set up is all second hand from Gary the font of all wisdom on these matters. I have never run a rear anti roll bar on my Vx and my car handles fine 🥰 (admittedly not quite as nimble as a K) although it is very stiffly sprung & therefore not so good for kerb hopping . I can recommend his adjustable front anti roll bar which makes a noticeable difference to the handling and is very easy to use . Good luck with the building of your car. 5. I can confirm that Swindon are the very best. The billet steel crank was actually faultless but the engine was still rebuilt promptly & foc. I always recommend them & would never use anyone else. L7 FUN
  6. Thank you Simon & Mel, x2 soft 235 & x2 medium 235 please. My cheque is in the post. Paul L7 FUN
  7. As Clive explained to the elite drivers attending his advanced technique tutorial this is the ultra defensive line - see how cleverly and completely he has blocked access to the late apex. Headmaster you may not have been invited? L7 FUN

Amazing how well Wednesday turned out with such unpromising beginnings . As usual many thanks Geoff to you and your team - the effort that has gone into organising this seasons calendar is much appreciated. Thanks also to Jonny & his very professional BaT organisation. L7 FUN
  9. John , You'll be getting a personal trainer & eating healthy food next Prospective purchasers should be warned that this is one of the quickest K's around L7 FUN
  10. LSB, don't worry about your box - I have had no problems with the quaife seq box in 4 years of trackday and occasional sprint use at 180+lbft torque and am very happy to continue using it. I know others in use also with no probs and can only assume that Peter was unlucky. L7 FUN
  11. Great result Darren, well done to you Brodie & Dave K *thumbup* L7 FUN
  12. Jon, Agree with all the above and have experience of most potential problems and solutions . This is not an uncommon problem with high rpm Vx's. The self bleeding top rad hose swirl pot is a quick & cost effective mod that I use & would recommend trying early (as copied from Nick D's big Vx and used by several other Vx owners) . L7 FUN
  13. Hi Alex , My contribution FWIW Assuming that you are running 22"rears, that your Caterham 6 speed is direct top, and that your rev limit is between 8500 - 8750, the 3.92 diff should be spot on for your car (as it is for mine (which as a fellow Vx luddite you are welcome to try) running the Quaife seq 6 speed with direct top ). You will be geared for 130mph + and will never max out in top on a UK circuit. Both Arnie & Mark have run big Vxs in the past with the Caterham 6 speed box, so don't worry about the final drive just get on & enjoy driving your car . L7 FUN
  14. Jeff S (did the tools arrive OK?) L7 FUN
  15. Once again Geoff, *thumbup*Thank you for all your hard work organising these events. It is very much appreciated. L7 FUN
  16. Jeff, Great pics YHM L7 FUN
  17. This could be caused by local vibration and would not necessarily require the seals to leak. The piston could move from its normal resting position, recoverable with a quick pump on the clutch after which pedal pressure would remain firm. Difficult at the end of long straights if you dont know whether the pedal is going to be there when changing down in extremis! Do try rebleeds/fluid changes etc but if the problem persists suspect vibration. L7 FUN
  18. 1XL & 1M please Mark, many thanks. L7 FUN Edited by - Paul Gibb on 16 Apr 2007 20:40:09
  19. I've watched the video . That run's worth two pints L7 FUN
  20. I was at Cadwell today getting in some sneaky practice on the Kumho's (Big to Mel Williams for the tyres and *thumbup* to Tony & Caterham for separating the old ears and carriers when both I and the local garage had failed - destroying several allen keys in the process 🙆🏻). Although I am still struggling a little with my 'new' radial setup the Kumho's feel at least as sticky (although less durable) than the ACB10's they replaced. On to the Friday 13th superstition bit: Offered no.13 at signing on & politely declined 😳. I needn't have bothered!! Borrowed several expensive tools to torque my rear hubs and promptly broke most of them . Final run of the afternoon flat chat along Park straight, clutch pedal felt spongy changing down for Park and then went nearly to the floor changing down into Goose Neck Literally flew across the apex in neutral before finding a gear and executing a monster high speed spin to the inside . Bell housing contains clutch fluid & as yet I don't know whether this has come from a union (potentially fixable tomorrow 😬) or from the piston itself . Is this bad luck or what? Kumho setup

Thank you all. Well I've just done the fronts & now on coffee break before changing the ears. And as for Mel Simon, he was f***ing brilliant boy 😳 L7 FUN

    Kumho setup

Thank you Mark. Did you have to change much to recover the lost rake? L7 FUN

Could anyone who has run these tyres give me some tips on a starting setup? Assume 2-3 -ve front, what about the ears? BTW Simon, Mel Wlilliams *thumbup* L7 FUN
