  1. There's a bike shop in Adenau that will have cables.
  2. That's what was suggested Roger when it ended up at Paul Exon's for a rebuild. A well respected 7 "specialist" had taken care of the previous build and then failed to diagnose over the couple of years it suffered with the problem but all has been fine since Paul rebuilt it (other than a broken Kent valve spring!!)
  3. I had the same symptoms with my VX. It would blow coolant and overheat on track with using higher revs. I replaced most of the cooling system, fitted a swirl pot, new HG and tried most of the things you've already tried. It was incredibly frustrating as it was impossible to replicate on the road but would return within 30 minutes of being on track. It displayed symptoms of HG failure but always showed clear with sniffer tests on the coolant. This culminated in an engine failure at Spa and steam being chuffed out of the exhaust The cause in my case was the use of the wrong head bolts/studs but i don't know if this could be an issue with the Duratec.
  4. I recently did this and ended up getting nose and wings from Ultimate carbon. I think Carbon Mods no longer supply carbon for Caterhams and Mog carbon is wet lay? Saying that, i have carbon half doors from Mog which i'm very happy with but if i was looking for wings and nose again, Ultimate carbon would be my choice.
  5. Thanks all. I bought some aluminium channel from B&Q at the weekend and fixed this using double sided tape. I've installed one channel so far and this has made a big improvement.
  6. I have large cut outs in my bonnet for the air filter and exhaust and because of the resulting loss of strength it sags in the middle. i was thinking of bonding some reinforcing strips to it to regain some rigidity and wondered if anyone has tried this or had any other suggestions?
  7. I have a new o ring for a 6.5" Pace tank if that's of any use?
  8. Thanks Darren, all sorted now.
  9. Thanks all. I'm clear on what i want on the new chassis with regards to bushes, diff strengthening, etc. It was more what other parts cannot be carried over. I'm hoping the suspension is a direct swap! Tim, No it isn't !
  10. As part of my rebuild I wanted to replace a damaged carbon rear wing so I'm looking for a pair. It also makes sense to get a carbon nose at the same time (man maths) but I'm struggling to find suppliers for pre-preg Carbon. I've tried Ultimate Carbon but haven't had a response for a few weeks now. Is there anyone else that I should try? TIA
  11. I've had my 1991 chassis dropped at Arch for renovation and it needs more work than I envisaged. I've been told a brand new chassis might be more cost eefective but before I commit I would like to know what other parts I would need as part of the update. bruce thinks I will need new front dampers (my current wide track suspension will fit I'm told) and I wil need a new handbrake as mine is currently under the dash but other than that I'm at a loss. Has anyone gone through the same process and can advise on this?
  12. Thanks all. I'll get the bosses added and leave it there for the time being.
  13. My car's going to Arch in the next week or two for a chassis restoration and I was wondering if it's worth having the mounts for watts linkage added. Does anyone have experience of the change and its merits?
