  1. Serviced car including coolant change by dropping bottom hose and bled via heater top hose back fill and rad plastic bleed screw. Took out for brisk run. Just went into garage to find puddle on floor and coolant all over engine bay. Refilled and ran to find what appears to be a leak from INSIDE the plastic bleed screw where the hex drive locates! (Cant see this type of large plastic bleed screw with o-ring on Caterham spares site. Can anyone advise where I can buy one?) Thanks.
  2. Looks like a trip to the shops for 75-90 gl4semi syth. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I may have found oil I bought a couple of years back from caterham as was running low. Invoice says GL4 75W80 -2003. But the oil is Comma EP75W-80 mineral. No mention of GL4 or Ford application's. Just rover Peugeot citron and Renault to not sure if it's the same one...
  4. Hi Servicing the 7 and can't find my gearbox oil I bought from Caterham when building the car. Suspect that I binned it! Need to dash to Halfords when they open as mot in the morning. Correct spec for a 2007 sigma roadsport with standard 5 speed box anyone??? Thanks!
  5. Hi Roger Ah, how soon they forget - I must have one of those faces, or 7's... (I believe we both worked for the same off highway company - I have since moved on.) Thank you for the leads however - I have already got a quote from Westemann. Will check out the others (any idea if nose cones come with catches / pre drilled?) thanks again Dave
  6. Hi Anyone know if there are still places available / how to find out??? thanks! Dave
  7. Hi Am looking for advice on alternatives to CC's carbon nose and F/R wings on my 2007 S3 150 roadsport as wish to replace current original glass items as part of planned makeover (new paint job too.) I am running original wheels / tyre sizes. Looking for lower cost than CC but also good finish / ease of fitment / delivery time. Suggestions? thanks Dave
  8. Thanks all. It's beginning to sound like far more work than the respray...! Will think again.
  9. Paint is badly chipped and have been trying to work out where to get respray, what colour, how much to strip the car etc etc. Then saw the new superlight twenty pictures and liked very much the ali / carbon look. I think it may even work out cheaper! A few questions then arose: How to get the paint etch primer off and polish the aluminium (I quite like the satin rather than high polish look btw) Should I leave any of the current black paint on? (inner of rear arches and under the lower chassis rails where the body wraps under. Leave the scuttle on when stripping???) Thought is will protect the areas difficult to clean? Best way to get the bonnet catches etc off. (drill out rivets?) How to maintain the ali after the paint is removed (I’m not a big fan of polishing! The car does a fair bit of touring as well as blats…) Where is best for the carbon. (CC prices are high compared to MOG etc, but who does the best finished F&R wings and nose and what coating should be applied to the carbon to protect it? Anyone have a similar experience? ta
  10. My new A048 are fine as we're the old Avons. Good news is just put the new ZT5'S on the front and the ZV3'S on the rear and all is as it was! Only problem is when the other ZV3'S wear out!!!
  11. Hi As my original Avon ZV3’on the rear of my 150 roadsport were getting close to the limit and I had a two week holiday in Wales planned, it seemed prudent to change them. The local tyre specialist informed me that Avon no longer do the ZV3’s and they had been replaced with ZT5’s so I had two 185 60 14’s fitted to the rear of the car – the same size as originally fitted all round. On the way home I noticed the car tended to tramline / bump steer at speed. A check of the pressures showed they were up at 30 PSI (despite me telling the fitter to put 20 in!) I put down the instability as excess pressure and duly dropped them to 20psi. I have now returned from the holiday and have to report the car is still the same. IE fine at low speeds, but anything above 50 or 60 is quite unnerving (similar to when I had excessive camber on the front before I adjusted it.) Anyone had any similar experiences? Do I need a different pressure? Are these just rubbish tyres???
  12. Fuse? (My sigma had both RH out and LH ok - was the separate fuse for RH and dash lights.)
  13. Still have the rest up for grabs! IE: full injection assembly including manifold and injectors, hoses, valve springs. All in vgc as the car hadn't done many miles when upgraded. Going cheap to good home and no sensible offer refused as I need the space! Also have the cams but I managed to leave them out on a damp bench and condition now less than perfect. *irked*Will throw in foc if interested.
