  1. Technically it was four club members including myself and revilla in the overflow car park at the Nordschleife on Friday afternoon after the trackday finished early. You've made it onto one of the many public lapping videos on YouTube: Hope you had fun! I certainly did.

    TPS ?

Si, new ones are £24 from eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131633046418
  3. Mintex M1144s are also a good choice and around the same sort of price. The pad shape you need for standard calipers should be MGB533: http://www.whybee.co.uk/mintex-mgb533m1144-mgb533-mintex-m1144-racing-brake-pads-fast-road-track.html If you want, I can give you the email address of my friend who co-runs the above company and he may be able to knock a bit off, as he's supplied Mintex pads to a few other club members, including myself, especially as I seem to get through M1144s every few trackdays.
  4. 3.2kgs for the WOSP. I'm very pleased with mine.
  5. Wow, that's amazing! Have they done many miles? Pads can absorb moisture over time. What calipers does your Supersprint use? The "standard" Triumph Herald Girling calipers?
  6. It's just part of the cam belt cover and serves to keep junk out of the stuff that's whizzing around in there. Some people choose to run without a cam belt cover. I would much rather leave it in place.

    R500 K noise

If you are sensible at Bedford, you can still use an R500K there to massive potential. Mine's not a legit R500, but for what it's worth, a recent static test there was 94.5dB at 5400rpm using a 7" x 24" Powerspeed silencer freshly packed with Acousta-Fil Boa. Snetterton a week or so before was 92db at just over 5000rpm. I'm still experimenting with how far and where I can push in terms of driveby exhaust and induction noise, but I know I can't get very close to 7000rpm next to the exhaust-side meters at Bedford without being red-carded. Induction side, I'm on Jenveys with an open filter hanging out of the bonnet, blaring away. Driveby at Bedford is 87.5dB. If you can get a car to be Bedford-friendly, it'll be fine everywhere else. Except for the more road-based 88dB static "quiet" days that some circuits run. Martyn's Raceco is beautiful, as are all of Raceco's silencers. I'd highly recommend swapping the silencing material though.
  8. Template for a blanking plate at the bottom of this page, if you wanted to make it yourself and not buy one (~£12 from Caterham last time I checked): http://www.hoymotorsport.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/pace_pages/fitting_the_pace_dry_sump_system.htm
  9. I'm going to chuck my oil preference into this thread as well: Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-40.
  10. I'm going to turn one of my spare blocks into a garden ornament!
  11. There's an SLR/VHPD system on Pistonheads at the moment, Simon. May or may not have been sold as it's been on there for a few weeks now.
  12. Check with your TDO/circuit that they'll be happy with a windscreen suction mount, as some won't.
  13. 16mm is probably the hose from the stat to the bottom of the header tank (in standard hose arrangement). 8mm sounds closer to the hose from the inlet manifold to to top of the header tank.
  14. Redline Components are in Caterham. They are great guys: http://www.redlinecomponents.co.uk/ What's the car doing, or not doing, to lead you to a suspect MFRU?
  15. I have one but it is currently in use until a planned rewire this winter. In the mean time, they are available from Minispares (http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/YWB10022.aspx) or there are a few new ones available on eBay for ~£100, slightly cheaper than the Caterham Parts price.
  16. I have this document in my Dropbox with a diagram on the last page for installing a start button and also getting rid of the ignition barrel, replacing it with an aircraft flip switch, if desired: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eqfwdxlr5ouofkp/31%20July%202012%20-%20App%20B%20Electrical.pdf?dl=0 I can't remember where the document came from, so I can't credit.
  17. I'm looking for a single or even a pair of 7J KN Minators, as I've got a single one from another club member. KN still have the tooling to make them, but I only really need one and not one hundred! It has ET5 stamped on the inside of one of the spokes. They were originally fitted to the Superlights apparently?
  18. 6" fronts are £95+VAT and 8" rears are £110+VAT. Both in stock. Just got off the phone to them.
  19. You aren't a million miles from Cadwell Park, near Louth. Head over there when there is a trackday on, or even head over on the Club trackday, and they will be happy to static test you. Be warned that a static pass is only half the story, as a car can sound totally different when loaded right up and driveby noise meters get blown apart. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, did one warm-ish lap, got told to go home. PS. I fully respect noise restrictions at airfields and circuits, otherwise we may not have them to drive on.
  20. I've just thought about my ropey use of terminology. Standard Bilsteins are traditionally fitted with the bodies and adjusting platforms at the bottom. Aftermarket have the bodies fitted at the top, hence my use of the word "inverted", with respect to standard Bilsteins. And double negative of "un-inverted", fitting them temporarily with the adjusting platforms and bodies at the bottom near the de Dion tube so that you can get to them more easily. If that's at all possible of course.
  21. Are KN still trading as usual? That is a relief to hear as I need a wheel.
  22. And I've probably had a brain fart moment and got myself confused, which is easily done!
  23. Tom, can you fit the Ohlins un-inverted (double negative?) so that you can get to the platforms, fiddle with the ride height and then flip them back to the normal inverted fitment to check them once you are happy?
  24. According to Simon's guide: "10mm of thread on the spring platform will be approx 5mm of ride height change."
  25. You could change the remote T-piece for one with suitable threads? I have a low pressure switch on one side of mine and the other is for a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Take a look at these: http://www.lmaautoparts.com/products/LONG_T-PIECES_TO_SUIT_ELECTRICAL_GAUGES/
