  1. Free to a good home. These are too good to scrap! Mrs H has formally decided to end her hillclimbs and sprints! Sparco race suit, suits a lady size 10. Good condition, but out of date for use in hillclimb/sprint/race/kart but perfectly ok for track days. Sparco gloves. Size XS. Fair condition. 1 seam needs a small repair, but otherwise serviceable. Only suitable after repair for track days. Collection from LL16 4EU, postage at cost or delivery to CL7C sprint/hillclimb events at Curborough, Wiscombe, Anglesey or Midland Hillclimb event at Loton 23/24 September. Photos available, PM me your email or telephone number. Malcolm
  2. Just entered, looks like I'm 97/120 entrant, so looks like the event is filling up!
  3. Tom, Gold pump bearing replacement and tolerances check was £154 incl VAT and post in early 2022. No hope if the rotors are damaged, though. Titan 01480474402 Edit: with apologies to Chris for the thread going off course!
  4. Yes, BGH tell me not to use the 'quick' mode as it can lead to rapid synchro wear on the T9 g/b.
  5. I got a confirmation of entry on 1 July for Wiscombe.
  6. On removal, be prepared with absorbent rags/ paper towel for fuel to come out until it has depressurised. Also I disconnect the battery prior.
  7. Like Nick, I made one out of the black plastic case of my camping cooker when I arrived at a hillclimb event without one! Dimensions on Competitor page.
  8. I'm interested in the HiSpec front calipers (if Mark has not purchased). I can't seem to send you a PM - maybe your inbox full? Malcolm
  9. Clive, I expect the data from our multiple timed runs is too much for the available space in Resultsman for the event?
  10. These two plugs take all the aggro out of type 9 oil drain/fill/topup.
  11. In addition to a top plate filler, next time the gearbox needs an overhaul BGH can fit a drain plug also (sorry no pictures of that) Malcolm
  12. If you are re-using the ball joint and employing SM25T's method (which works every time for me) I recommend fitting a non nyloc nut to the end of the threaded taper pin. This will prevent any damage to the thread on the end of the taper pin when force is applied to it (avoid using the original nyloc as it'll be tight on the thread and more aggro to then remove it!)
  13. I stand corrected, JP, if they are available now - I had difficulty finding one from the usual culprits, but that was 5 years ago.
  14. Rover original pumps are no longer available. Replacement from Merlin Motorsport stock number ITP144, cost £76 + VAT in 2018. It is slightly wider than the original, the tank pump cradle needs slight modification to fit. Tank out job. Worth fitting a new seal (from Redline). Treat the blind rivnuts with care and don't over tighten the fixing screws as the rivnuts will turn, and you'll have leaks. Under tighten the fixings and the seal will leak too! Good luck !

  16. The lowered RHS VVC engine mount for the Caterham DS system is available to order from Arch, I had one made last year. Maybe with some fettling it might be suitable for a VVC / Pace DS system?
  17. I recall a Low Flying article about fitting the Pace DS system about 2003-5 - try a search of the archive. Malcolm edit: is this any help? https://lowflying.caterhamlotus7.club/2003/2003_03_02_DrySump.pdf
  18. Just fitted this and calibrated the dipstick. No more fiddling about with the tapered plug!
  19. BGH Geartec recommend Comma SX75W-90 GL4 for the Type 9.
  20. Compared to the other devices mentioned, which I have previously used, I'd suggest that a taper sleeve is most suited to the occasional amateur user, like me, for its ease and significant reduction in risk of ring damage. The only downside is the cost, but I'm happy to lend it out (it's an 80 mm size).
  21. +1 on the Wiseco taper sleeve, works a treat!
  22. That is correct. The K series, as installed in a Caterham with a shallow wet sump, is particularly prone to bearing damage from aerated oil, especially when driven hard. The Apollo with help reduce the risk of this, but will not give any/little protection from oil surge eg with higher cornering forces with slicks. There are plenty of cars that have been on track with road tyres and Apollo only and not come to any harm.
  23. The dry sump parts needed are no longer available from either Caterham or Titan, except for the aluminium sump pan. Complete systems do come up for sale secondhand from time to time. I have no knowledge on the availability of the Pace system from the company mentioned in the previous post. Fitting an Apollo tank is perfectly adequate for track days/sprints/hillclimbs (but probably not if you're planning to use slick tyres). They also come up for sale secondhand, and much much cheaper than a secondhand dry sump system. There are no compatibility problems for the VVC. Malcolm
