I think I must be very lucky so far. I've covered over 15,000 spirited miles in mine from new, I change the oil every year since 2018 and everything is fine.
Recently changed mine on my 420r with about .5 of a mm from the wear indicators. New ZZs's all round for the last time I fear. I too shall be going down the 888 route next time.
And now to stop it spinning when I tighten the nut! I know there needs to be pressure on it so I tried two clamps to no avail. Going to try a bigger G clamp today and see how that goes. How does everyone else do it?
