  1. How do you know if its failed? (probably another daft question from me!)
  2. Green with Twin Black Stripes
  3. Smiffy69

    GPS speedo

    Smart phone app?
  4. Fascinating stuff .... Does anyone know what the standard flywheel spec is for the duratec 2.0 l ?
  5. Green and yellow around 4pm heading up as we were coming down lovely day for it and stunning views on the way
  6. They are still available from CC just call them. web site out of stock ...... So I called CC ... I have four here I can pop in the post today for you Sir. i was also informed by CC that Avon still make them just with a slightly modified compound to make then legal again
  7. This sounds like a similar problem I had.... Car would refuse to start / slow turn over and also sometimes just stop mid Blat!? It turned out to be two things. BTW I have a 2010 R300 duratec with the scorpion immobiliser where you wave the fob around the centre consol to deactivate. ( this is where the antenna is). The first problem on it just cutting out was the immobiliser earth. CC had just used the screw that mounted the immobiliser to the bulk head with out scraping off any paint. Also this had worked a bit lose so untimately ended in a bad / intermittent earth. As soon as I re homed this to the motor wiper earth point the random cut outs ceased. ( worth a look) the second issue was due to a duff battery ( Banner) only 2 years old and original fit with car when I built it. I tested this off load by disconnecting from the car and measuring terminal voltage after a full charge on a battery conditioner. The result was that the terminal voltage was dropping by about .2v every 6 hours. I.e not holding its charge. So I got a new one and the speed the engine turns over now is so much less laboured ..... I may be as bold to say it's now spritely. So my symptoms sound similar to yours and this is how I solved it. hope it helps
  8. 2 up ... Heard you before we saw you but you missed us as we were 1 row over from you and were hidden but some clunk who was holding every thing up as he had a flat battery. have a great trip
  9. As we get into the summer touring season do the POBC change tyre pressures when driving about in a fully loaded 7? On the tin top it recommends increasing with load so as I usually set mine to 18 Psi should I increase this when fully loaded and touring? If so what pressure do you use? (And in the spirit of daft questions this is probably up there witht the best !! )
  10. Very true..... there is no such thing as a daft question So we should check the oil level with the engine running - I never knew that after all these years I thought you did it with the engine warm but not running. Every day is a school day
  11. From the photo it would seem you need shorter wing stays i.e. the bit that the cycle win attaches too as they look too high. I have CR500 on 15" rims and my cycle wins slightly overlap the top of the tyre so a very snug fit. The stays on mine have an approx radius of 12.5"
  12. +1 for Mark W solution - I did the same
  13. got the same problem with mine ..... its going on the rmps at the weekend and having a belt chance before the meadow takes over. It's a lot less Bovva with a Hovva !!!
  14. That's really interesting! According to my temp gauge fan comes on at around 80 and only really comes on after a prolonged que in traffic. However I do know of a few others that seem to have their fan running whenever they stop. Normal op temp is around 75 and steady at blatting speeds. I'll stick it on the laptop when i get the chance and see what my ECU tells me.

  16. I have a modified shower cap from SBFS as i have windscreen stantion mounted mirrors so had a velcro seam added so that the cover did not bunch up or "adjust" my mirrors ... Very good solution and would recommend. Nick (SBFS) was very helpful in getting this sorted
  17. I have the Race Tech mounted on the middle screw on the stantion ...... really good, stable with really good rear visibility and would recommend. As SM25T and others have stated you soon get used to having to be careful when getting in or out
  18. Bijou hi-jack ......... where do you get a cable from for car to laptop for easymap? or even a circuit diagram to build one ?
  19. Sorted direct with Caerbont - Thanks for the pointer
  20. Good idea i will do that - do Caerbont supply all of the instruments to Caterham ?
  21. The locking ring on my tacho has bust and after a few attempts at fixing it has finally given up Does any one have any ideas / sources for a replacement ? The CC website will only sell you a new unit at £144 which seems a bit steep for just a plastic locking ring. Its a Duratec SVA Tacho.
  22. Stephen ..... you don't happen to have any pikkies of your install do you ?
  23. Reg no B? 7X on Blvd St germain. Nice day for it .............
