BARC sprint last year started after the Mountain and finished before the Mountain

Incidentally Cadwell was my first ever trackday back in 2002 and in the damp. After the first buttock-clenching session I decided some instruction was necessary as I didn't have a clue! (some say I still don't ). You'll be fine Tony just drive at your usual pace In those days the wall on the outside of The Hairpin was just the other side of the white line. Kinda kept you focused

Tony, be positive.... I did this sprint last March and it was pleasantly dry and very warm as can be seen here and if you listen very carefully around the 55/56 sec mark on the video you'll hear my alternator fan hitting the underside of the driver's floor
  4. No seat runners in mine. Pax leather & driver Tillett. Never had any issues.
  5. JP the lower ARB is a different length, shorter from memory. I think I paid £20 form a race team
  6. I have one of Freestyle's original adjustable ARBs (it replaced a green one in Feb '10) and I used to play around with it quite a bit in the first couple of years. I think it's been on the softest setting for at least 7/8 years! I tend to adjust the dampers instead. I also changed my rear over the diff ARB to an under the diff ARB as with wide rear wheels it caused a few issues. If you go this route Arch will drill the lower chassis and weld in bosses for you. I used the same ARB mounts and found a cheap 2nd hand ARB. Personally I found this arrangement makes adjustment easier. Photos here
  7. Andy Couchman of this parish has converted his 1986 x/flow to a very sweet 170bhp(?) TB'd engine, hopefully he'll be along to impart his knowledge
  8. The upper steering column is held in place by 2 rubber bushes with lugs on. It needs a short sharp tug with both hands whil sitting in the seat (Just be careful as they are plenty of stories of people with a steering wheel implanted onto their face!)or ratchet strap on the roll bar.
  9. Re wheel stud length there is a good thread worth reading here
  10. even better, drill a hole in said washer and fix to keyring
  11. Interesting, when I replaced my carpet in 2007 as part of the rebuild I found out was secured by sufficient number of press studs which made removal a cinch. During the rebuild process once the car had been repanelled I decided to do the same. Let's just say fitting the popper bases in the footwells was a challenge but made easier with an air riviter.
  12. Have you taken the knee trim panels off? If riveted on then simply drill them out and use self tappers to refit. Once the knee trim panels are off you'll see what you're dealing with. It'll either be a large scuttle retaining bracket with 2 captive nuts or simply 2 nuts. The scuttle itself is secured to the chassis by 2 nuts on 2 vertical studs.
  13. Yep, had one since 2015. Deflects the wind and you can see through it. What else do you need to know
  14. Roger, Nothing wrong with standard ratios, after all, my 7 managed 86k miles on the standard T9 (Sprinting & touring) just fancied a change with more emphasis on the sprinting, although I've still toured with the SPC gearset. I find driving it a lot more enjoyable though with closer ratio gears. One man's meat.........
  15. Julian, Also think about the 5 speed with SPC rocket ratios. Long 1st and 2nd and shorter 5th. You're welcome to pop over to me in Heathfield for a ride. Chris
  16. I have the 4-spoke race Revolutions which are lighter than my old road Revolutions. When I purchased mine last February I think Warren told me they no longer sell the road wheels. However from their website the road version 13x6 is 5.2-5.4kg and the equivalent race ones are 4.2kg. No idea on the weight of other wheels to compare though. When I ordered mine they cost £571 (inc VAT & delivery), cheaper than 4 x ZZS tyres from Avon
  17. If you're thinking of changing the dash layout then let Bruce know as he'll able to cut one out to your spec. Also as I was going to be sprinting the car I had Bruce add towing eyes to the remaining corners to make 4. As mine was a '93 chassis I also had the diff mounts strengthened and extra protection added in the tunnel. And finally another thought, be prepared to spend more than you budget for........ new fittings packs, PPF, refurb of bezels on the gauges.....
  18. Have a look here for ideas http://c7cat.com/Rebuild.htm
  19. .....and now how not to do it
  20. I haven't been back since our first and only visit in 2004 and that was on a TF day, also in our x/flow. SWMBO also managed a lap. The best bit for me was that a biker from Norway asked if he could have a ride in the 7 and when I explained I was a complete novice at the 'ring he said he and his mates were regulars each year so he got them to provide an escort convoy of about 6 riders in front and a few behind. I stayed a safe distance behind the guys in front but was able to watch their positioning and speed which helped tremendously. No doubt this would have been my quickest lap. http://c7cat.com/Ring.htm#NB
