  1. I have the bhrepairs one from the 2018 thread, no issues with side access or access underneath
  2. There are 2 types of rear ARB; over the diff mounting and under the diff mounting. I think you have the over the diff version which is shorter. Don't know when Caterham changed but my '93 de Dion used to have an over the diff mounting and when I had my chassis modified for the under diff mounting I had to source a 2nd hand ARB which was longer
  3. 1kg, sorry seemed to have missed that vital part of info
  4. Well, having experienced a head on all I know was glad the battery tray was bolted down
  5. Defo nut and bolt with large penny washer. Rivnuts are not going to hold a battery in place in the unfortunate case of a front end shunt
  6. Personally I'd just make one up using the dimensions found here. I made mine out of aluminium and painted it black, still going strong after 15 seasons.
  7. I've always trailered with just a tonneau on mine. Something to consider perhaps?

    Prescott?

Fantastic weekend and really close competition in Class 4. We were very lucky with the weather given the rain that arrived just after Saturday's event finished. We diverted off the M4 to avoid a large tailback and rejoined at the A34 where the slip road entry was a lake, let's just say I was glad we were in the CRV!

    Prescott?

Sunday email received and it's musical chairs for those taking part on both days
  12. #23 I mounted the jack where the old battery tray used to be on my x/flow for touring but later moved to it to the position shown in #16 as the few times I used the jack I found it to be a right royal PITA to remove and refit (maybe my method of fitting was just not suitable)
  13. Ditch the heater, fit a toolbox and then you'll have somewhere to carry spares and the jack/handle. Box secured by 4 rivnuts in the bottom and 2 long bolts with penny washers through the front bulkhead.
  14. Update, looks like it was a dodgy connection on the crank position sensor as after a quick wiggle the car started. Thanks to Guy Lowe on Zetec 7s FB page.
  15. Hi Nick, yes Toad Sterling Excel, I'll check the wiring diagram. Tomorrow's plan is to remove scuttle and investigate further. I was just looking for suggestions.....
  16. I drove the car yesterday and on the 4 occasions it needed to start it did so without any issues. Today, engine turns over but won't fire. It's a 2l Zetec on TBs. No inertia switch fitted. Turn battery master switch on, ignition on and deactivate immobiliser and can hear fuel pump priming, press the starter button and engine turns over sweetly enough but won't fire. Battery is showing over 13v and about 11.3 when cranking and there is over 1/2 tank of fuel. The only odd thing (perhaps) is that I can hear a clicking under the dash when trying to start, I guess this is the problem? Likely causes anyone?
  17. I've done the same as Tony above but use (from memory) a 16 or 20mm caphead bolt to extract the dustcap and then on replacement use an 8mm dome-headed bolt to 'fill' the hole. I used a 4mm rivnut and still have the original 1993 dustcaps.

    Battery

#19 I fitted the Enduroline EC680 in July 2021 to my 2l Zetec and so far have had no issues with it. the car is fitted with a battery master switch which cuts all power (including to the Toad/Sterling immobiliser) so there is no battery drain. I rarely need to plug the battery conditioner in these days. It gets the from me.
  19. Sadly, you won't be able to gain entry unless your name has been notified in advance to the organising club. If you're not on the list at the gate they'll not let you in. Hopefully you'll see this before heading off.....
  20. Anyone want a room at The Bird in Hand, Wreningham as I'll doubt they refund me. Happy to go halves...
  21. Just put 570 on your car add a few stripes and job's a good'un
  22. .... as just tested positive for Covid for the first time after all these years. Bugger! Could have done with the 100 points as the only competitor in Class 4
