  1. My extended breather pipe goes up into the boot and loops down into a small clear watertight container (can't remember if 50 or 100ml) cable tied to rear bulkhead and has 3 holes drilled into the lid for breathing.
  2. According to the original order form for my Super Sprint dated 20.11.92 (as obtained via Martin Phipps) wheels and tyres came as 1 of 3 options: 6 x 14 KN Alloys or 6 1/2 x 15 Prisoner Alloys or 7 x 16 HPC Alloys
  3. Who's out to play tomorrow? Only 23 places taken for the trackday!
  4. Tony, I feel your pain I knocked 1.61s off my PB and still came second. Would Class 3 like Richard back?
  5. Paul, this is what you are looking for. This is the badge on my '93 Supersprint. I think they're hard to find these days and if you do be prepared to pay.
  6. I don't ever remember seeing one on my x/flow and there certainly isn't one on my Zetec bellhousing and the gaiter has fallen out in 13 years.....
  7. Looking at Merlin's website they show a Table of helmet standards and homologations which shows SA2015 as expiring, for our purposes, on 31.12.2026 but further up the list the 'combined standard' (?) of FIA 8859-2015 and SA2015 has no current expiry date. How does that work, what am I missing?
  8. A bit of Armor All polish will sort the rockets
  9. Well I guess they all have to meet the minimum standards for Snell, FIA etc but does it mean a less expensive helmet only just meets the requirements whereas a more expensive helmet exceeds those requirements by a lesser or greater degree? I also have a Bell Sport 5 (£300 when new at Autosport) and was quite surprised to see the equivalent is now £700+. ETA No idea where I got that £700+ from but DT is selling a Bell GT5 Sport with Hans posts for £526 (FIA 8859-2015 which currently has no expiry date)
  10. Selling on behalf of an ex-sevener. SBFS one-piece tonneau cover for Tillett seats in very good condition although it has been modified to fit, I believe by the position of the cut-outs, a superlight cage. £50. Can take to Wiscombe hillclimb 2nd Sept or Anglesey sprint 30th Sept/1st Oct or P&P at cost.
  11. Tony, gotta be worth a phone call surely, the following are the details on the foot om my acceptance email: Ian Beningfield MGCC SW Centre Chairman & Entry Secretary chairman@mgccsw.com 07747 080417
  12. When I rebuilt mine I did refit carpets, tunnel and rear bulkhead, but instead of gluing them in I fitted poppers and bases to the tunnel carpet/tunnel (there is no need on the bulkhead as it just hangs in place) in suitable places. Recently, I decided to remove all carpets (7 is now basically used for sprinting/hillclimbing) and the tunnel top. As an when I return it to road usage it's a 10/15 minute job to replace the carpets. Rubber mats in the footwell ahve gone long ago and replaced with 2 strips of skateboard grip tape on the floor of wach footwell as this prevents sliping when getting out IYSWIM.
  13. Well, at least, it worked this time.....
  14. Common problem it seems especially with 8" rears. I reckon you've been unlucky in that although the de dion isn't actually touching the wheel you may have had a small stone get stuck between the de dion and the inside of the wheel. What ECR has mentioned above is the way forward. It happened to me recently and I have a gap of at least 3-4 mm.
  15. Just to confirm I'd like a garage space too.
  16. Do we not get 3 garages allocated anyway now?
  17. Entries now open on MONDAY 14TH @ 1830 per above email in case anyne hasn't received it... There appears to be an issue with the website and the link to the entry form for our Margaret Malcolm Memorial Sprints on 30th September and 1st October at Anglesey is still inactive. We are investigating this as a high priority. On the assumption that the problem can be resolved over the weekend, entries will now open at 6.30pm on Monday 14th August. We will ensure it is thoroughly tested before than and will issue an update by midday on Monday if we need to delay further. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience. Longton & District Motor Club
  18. Apparenrtly, they're not open according to the last email received at 1924....
  19. Rob, I guess it might depend on which pedal settings you use but my throttle stop is when the pedal hits the back of the pedal box. However, with enthusiastic full throttle when sprinting I found the aluminium of the pedal box was beginning to dent. I solved that problem by bolting in a stainless steel plate inside the pedal box. Just thought...
  20. Thanks Andy, the results link doesn't appear to show Classes 1 & 2 at the moment
  21. Yep, received email confirmation on 1st July
  22. I think you'll find it come down to personal preference really. Back in the day I had the original 0% rack and went straight to the 22% and preferred it immediately. I've managed nearly 60k miles with it blatting, touring, sprinting and hillclimbing and use it with a 255mm SPA steering wheel. No issues apart from it's heavy going when parking at really slow speeds. From memory it's something like 1.8(?) turns lock to lock. Just my 2p
  23. Alan, Just experienced the very same with my horn (MoT on Monday ). After checking switch, relay and borrowing a horn (similar to the above snail horn) from a neighbour's MGB I've proved that the horns have simply given up the ghost, they were 17 years old, so I've bought some from Amazon for delivery Saturday.
  24. The BHRepairs one does have a cross member but it's not really affected anything I need to do but what sold it to me was the fact that it's only 34" wide which means side access to cockpit and engine bay doesn't require leaning over the ramps IYSWIM. Not sure where your based Heptagon but I'm in East Sussex if you want to pop in
