  1. Delbert's old toe nail clippings. Where's Lentil?
  2. I'll probably go to Redline. :-)
  3. I need a pair of front indicator light pods. Anything available? Thanks. Clive
  4. Don't Tillet do a re-fresh service for their seats?
  5. Looks good and a fairly straight forward fix, so long as the scuttle is easily removable. Do you think it will stop the milk spots after rain? Clive.
  6. Check the parasitic drain. Take off the earth lead from the battery and connect your multimeter from the battery -ve to the earth. Multimeter set to read amps, to see what the drain is. ( hopefully less than 50 mA ) Then pull out each of the fuses / relays in turn to find out what's causing the drain. I recently had a similar problem, which turned out to be the indicators rather than the immobiliser. Clive.
  7. My car's aero screened so it's just like riding a motorbike in the wet. Bike shops sell loads of good one-piece suits, totally waterproof. Stick on a helmet and laugh at the rain!

  9. Andrew. Thank you for a great clear explanation. This definitely needs to go somewhere for future reference. Perhaps a Low Flying article ? Clive
  10. Thanks guys, this is really useful stuff for me too.
  11. The linked bar isn't the tall version. The distance from the top of the diagonal brace to the star of the corner radius is much more noticeable (60mm) on the tall bar.
  12. I have the tall version and thats 435mm from the rear bulkhead to the top of the bar at the bar sloping angle. Approx 15 degree forward slope. Clive
  13. Relay replaced... all cool now!
  14. Had a fresh look at things tonight. Found an un-connected wire lurking in the loom. Game on!
  15. Thanks guys. I seem to have solved my problem. Just need a run out to check.
  16. The headlight relay is getting hot even though the lights are off?
  17. Dis-connected / re-connected battery. No difference. Still won't dis-arm.
  18. Thanks for the link Jonathon. I think the loom in my car is bespoke made for the BEC conversion, but the wording for the immobiliser instructions are word for word with the Toad one's I have. At the moment it appears to be the immobiliser rather than anything else, but I need to investigate further. I'll try dis-connecting and re-connecting the battery first. Clive
  19. Help! Recently, my battery went dead in a couple of days when left off of the charger. Li-ion battery knackered. I've had the scuttle off and found the source of the parasitic drain ( Indicators ) and have cured this. Fully charged, new battery installed, but now the Toad Immobiliser refuses to dis-arm. The red LED just blinks away, but the system doesn't seem to want to recognise the fob. Normally, the ignition light comes on, and the fuel pump primes. Because it's been off of the battery for a few days, could it have lost the codes? Would it have an internal battery keeping the memory alive? Clive
  20. I would say you need an Apollo even if just for road use. I wiped the bearings on my old K series ( wet sump, no apollo ) on R888s just driving enthusiastically around the local roundabouts. I had to strip and re-build the engine and install apollo. Afterwards no problems even doing the sprint series.
  21. Thanks for the recommendations. I think I'm slowly learning how to use them properly, and how useful they are. Jonathon - what's the great resistance trap? Fuse blowing when testing Ampage. Nothing registering at 10A scale, then fuse blowing when going to 200mA. Can never find the spares!
  22. I fitted a lithium battery to my 7, (Yamaha R1 ), only a few months ago. It normally kept on lithium specific smart charger, but recently left it off for a couple of days. Seems I have a parasitic discharge going on, that flattened the battery in that time. I think I've found the culprit ( self canceling indicator unit ), but the battery now won't hold a charge! As once as they go flat they're knackered.
  23. Can anyone recommend a decent multimeter? I've got a cheap one from Halfords ( under a tenner ), but keep blowing the internal fuse. My fault I know, but if I spent a bit more, is there any that self protect without blowing fuses? TIA. Clive
