I spent many years leaning over a drafting machine ( posh drawing board ). Doing the initial drawings on film was fine, but doing revisions by scratching off with a razor blade, then re-drawing on the reverse was a pita. I still have all my old Rotring pens and a full set of railway curves. Remember the stink of the print room.

Hi Neil, Just been looking online and I can only find dip tube senders with 5 hole, presumably you had the same problem. My AIM digidash fuel gauge jumps about like crazy, with the standard sender unit. I'm hoping a tube type, will steady the reading and make it more accurate. Would be great if you can find the adaptor. Clive

Hi Neil, is this still available? Can you confirm the fixing pattern fits the Caterham live axle tank. As photo, with the overall top diameter about 75mm? It's difficult to measure the depth of the tank, but it looks as if 200mm will fit? If so, I'll take it. Regards, Clive

WB. The new Toyo offering is R888R, which come in the same sizes. I think they are a step up from the R888s, but then I'm comparing old rubber with new. What you need is a sequential gearbox and a flat shifter. And 12,500 rpm will help.

With a bit of development, I would think it'll pretty easy to come up with a EV conversion kit for the 7,at reasonable cost if DIY. It may be the only option for keeping our cars on the road in future. Otherwise in 20 years time they'll all be museum pieces. Someone like Premier Power may start looking at this option, else they will become defunct. Or maybe the Club should start a development fund?

Will it being a Caterham be enough of an appeal? The 7 part is pretty important too. As JK says, what would Chapman do?

How would we feel about losing the shape / layout of the 7? An EV is likely to need a different chassis and shape. Maybe they'll take the opportunity to improve it's aero performance. But the cost involved in getting a totally new car on the road would surely be prohibitive.

To help find out what's causing the drain, keep repeating the test but pull out the fuses one at a time. Hopefully, you'll isolate the "bad" circuit.
