  4. My entry for the most bizarre question is as follows - Does anyone know what size plug (Diameter and thread) is used for the drain on the triangular dry sump tanks that are situated just under the nosecone of a Duratec R500, and most likely the R400, CSR and others! Mine is a 2012 car and id like to get a magnetic plug prior to the oil change but need the thread size etc! I'll wait in anticipation for someone with enviable knowledge to come along and help!

On the advice of SPC i am looking for an untouched virgin diff to have refurbed and fitted with a Tracsport LSD. If anyone has one that they are willing to part with or knows where i can get a good example of one please get in touch.
  8. I can confirm that the brass pin should push through. Thats exactly what i did with mine.
  9. Just a shame about all the speed humps on Berko high street!
  10. #10 - I was going to say that WD40 is my go-to for cleaninng all sorts of things !!
  11. What is the accepted wisdom/practice for annual servicing on cars that have only covered a few hundred miles in the year, and the use of a dealer to maintain a 'Service record' in the service book? Does anyone defer their servicing due to low use, or have a way of maintaining provenance when carrying out servicing themselves? Im mindful of residual values when/if i come to sell mine as it seems to have been very low use since new, and has not been religiously serviced annually (According to the book), presumably for that reason.
  12. After developing condensation inside my STACK dash I decided to have it serviced by the UK service agent 213 Performance. Removal was simple via 4 very small nyloc nuts at the back of the unit which were holding it in with 2 C-shaped brackets. Andrew at 213 Performance was incredibly helpful and described the possible causes and the potential work that was required. I dropped the unit off to him and a couple of days later I had a diagnosis of a failed front seal and agreed the work. They replaced the seal, checked the internal battery for drain and need for replacement and replaced the silica gel that the unit has inside it, and despite the turnaround expected to be 2 weeks, they did this in a week. The unit looks brand new, and the service was excellent. I can highly recommend them. If anyone needs any other information feel free to get in touch.
  13. Looks like the 'Original Cafe Racer' are offering a 10% discount today.
  14. #9 Roger, ..... your advice comes a week too late
  15. Hi Paul, Welcome and please remember there are no dumb questions, just dumb answers.... of which i hope this isn't one! The front grille comes off very easily from the inside of the nosecone (Which also comes off very easily with 4 fasteners). Once the nose is off the grille on mine was held in by 2 spring clips and once removed all came apart very easily. This is definitely something you can do yourself, and I've just redone mine!
  16. It will be interesting to see what this does to used prices in the coming warmer months!
  17. Presumably it was making a loud noise and the 'E' couldn't have been for Electric??
  18. I also use the 3M Dual Lock tape. Once its on its on! Fantastic product!
  19. That was exactly what i thought about mine, which i am also very happy with.
  20. I have a 3/4 size plate from 'Fancyplates' and am really pleased with how they look. They are smaller but still retain the aesthetic proportion so you dont immediately notice they are not full size. Ive only replaced the front one on mine as i think the rear doesnt look bad with the standard plate.
  21. If anyone needs to buy ACF50, this company is the cheapest i can find at the moment. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk
  22. I stumbled across this thread earlier regarding Diff oil, .... it may be of use in general .... https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/differential-oil-and-lesson-learnt
