  1. Maplin will sort you out, no prob', you need a 12volt led although i've even used 6volt leds on 12volt systems they're hardy little beggers
  2. i would check your throttle cable if free to move in its sleeve in it sheath and not frayed. it can give some strange symptoms if it is sticking ever so slightly
  3. i don't think my 2007 SV Roadsport 150 had different seats to the normal S3 car. i had standard black leather seats and had the car from new
  4. i had a similar problem on my '81 crossflow (Ital axle). it was most apparent when just feathering the throttle at high speed in top gear. It turned out to be the nose pinion bearing on the diff, a diff rebuild sorted it all out, cost about £50 for the bits and £100 labour. any decent transmission specialist should sort it, its not a sophisticated bit of kit.
  5. I don't suppose that Caterham have sold you a hood for a pre 82 "short cockpit" car. My 81 car is a short cockpit type i.e. same as a Lotus 7 series 3. If your "modern" side screens fit in the vertical plane what i'm saying will not apply but if they appear to be too tall for the hood then you may have a short cockpit hood which i doubt. The short cockpit sidescreens were lower.....just low enough to disrupt most peoples vision when looking to the right, hence the Caterham design of what they used to call the high visibility side screen
  6. I have a MBE 36L039A ECU and sensors listed below from my Ford sigma 150bhp engine (ex my 2007 SV Roadsport 150) 1) MAP sensor 2) Throttle position sensor 3) Inlet air temperature probe 4) Coolant Temperature probe 5) 2 off Lambda sensors. The ECU is loaded with the correct software for the 150bhp sigma engine it was done in 2008/09. Make me a sensible offer for the lot
  7. i got the strangest of rough running scenarios with my 210hp MZR (Omex ECU,Jenvey TBs etc), It turned out to be a frayed throttle cable that was sticking slightly although all the throttle butterflies appeared to be synchronized and functioning ok on visual inspection.
  8. Thanks guys, a lot of valuable input there, bits and pieces i hadn't considered. Generally speaking you all managed to talk me into making a project of it and whipping the head off. The VW stem seals are an interesting angle Andy, do you know which engine that they are from? An interesting point i'd forgotten about.....no exhaust valve stem seal due to it being always being under a compressive and any oil that does get down aids cooling i think. I believe that the maker,s still install them, though performance engine builders don't as a rule. Thanks again for the input BM
  9. My old crossflow is going to to be the beneficiary of massive investment over the winter, i'm investing in new valve stem seals. Instead of using the "roadside solution" for compressing the valve springs with the head in place (a 12" driver and bike tyre lever) I think that there is a tool on the market that can compress the spring with the head on, i've seen one for the later ford engine but don't know if it is good for the crossflow. Has anybody got info on this bit of kit for use on the crossflow.
  10. i have a pair in the garage that can be passed to a new. I got them from caterham can't see thyem on the website now though
  11. i've never had an issue with my 81 crossflow, my triumph gt6, tr5, tr4a, tr6....just used a good old fashioned Wanner grease gun filled with ep90, Wanner grease guns are still the best there is, you'll get one off ebay £20/25
  12. i had 15" csr wheels on my 2007 SV Roadsport with super light suspension, it needed a 10mm wheel spacer in order to avoid fouling ARB drop link
  13. I have a pair of CSR rear wheels, 9" x 15", 10 spoke, Anthracite, Caterham Part No SKU 58299 c/w correct centre caps. £220 + postage. now sold
  14. Newly painted, no holes drilled for bolted fixings or repeater to keep them neat and elegant as I liked them. "Bighead" stainless tyrap type fixings as per RiF method. Colour was caterham option in 2007. £140 plus postage
  15. don't suppose the titanium grills are still on the go, i'd like one for my S3, got one from you for my SV, by the way still enjoying the titanium bottle opener you gave me at the last lemans classic (fat fish site) a great do in spite of me being a happy caravaner instead of in the 7.

  17. I have a pair of Black leather seats complete with Runners from my Elise S1 Sport 160,as with all S1's the drivers seat has pneumatic lumber adjustment. They're in great con' and are £300 plus postage. I've had them slotted in my 2007 SV 150. Email me if you want photos
  18. After 7years of ownership I've just noticed the rear ARB is not mounted in the same location on each hub carrier. The offside mount has been offset in order toallow the speedo sensor to be located. Looks a bit jury rigged to me! I have also had problems with ARB adjustable drop links having worn 2 sets out in10k! each time it was pointed out by the mot examiner although he didn't fail them. The drop links don't look man enough for the job to me, has anyone found something a bit beefier that might last more than 5K
  19. I'm thinking! I have a roadsport 150 SV which I got new, factory built in nov 2007 (my 60th birthday pres to me). 20. one pair 7 1/2s with old fashioned sealed beam units, in chrome and one pair in caterham green with old fashioned sealed beam units.......best I can do
  21. Thanks guys, it appears that one i have fitted at the moment with a 4 speed box will also be ok for the 5-speed box from what i can gather, sorry, i'm on a learning curve, (4- speed changeout for a type 9 5-speed)
  22. Does anybody have one of these for sale?
  23. Richard, received, installed and road tetsed, a great addition especially as i'm a titanium blue SV...................don't suppose you'd chop out some rear grilles for an S1 Elise, i have a simple design in mind to replace rusting old bits of mesh.
