  1. So yes Ian, that looks like the hex that is also used on 10mm thread dia plugs (5/8", 16mm)
  2. Ian, so do those plugs have a different hexagon size (I am not familiar with K series)? My "normal" 14mm plug socket is 13/16" about 21mm hex. I can't measure my 10mm plug socket because that is in the garage and I am not going out there tonight but looking up 10mm plugs says the hex is 5/8", approx 16mm which would explain the Halfords description I have just edited this to correct an error and add info
  3. 10 mm and 14mm are the plug thread diameters, not the socket size
  4. Redline? If Chris does not have them then someone like Demon Tweeks
  5. If you are going to change the oil then before hibernation is the time to do it. The main issue with oil is becoming contaminated with combustion products so best to get rid of these before the engine stands idle for some time. If you want to be really careful then warm up the old oil, drain, refill and circulate oil on the starter without starting the engine. This may, however, all be a bit OTT if your oil is not very old to start with.
  6. Perhaps try clamping the lower column in a vice (soft jaws if possible) using the flat on it and use the steering wheel on the upper to try and turn. If you need to resort to hitting things use a copper hammer if you can (or at least something soft between the hammer and column)
  7. If the tester is saying 18 mm for the front then surely they must be vented
  8. If you want to reduce the possibility of the rivnut spinning try smearing some araldite (other epoxy resins are available) on them before crimping up
  9. The Demon Tweeks site lets you choose them by seat type, nut size, thread etc. It then gives you the McGard part no
  10. What type of starter do cars of that age have? Photo? Whatever the issue I would certainly ditch the points and go electronic.
  11. There is also this book Buy How To Build And Power Tune Weber And Dellorto Carburettors - 6756 | Demon Tweeks (demon-tweeks.com)
  12. The number will presumably be in the form "AM YY NNN" i.e Arch Motors, year of manufacture, serial no. for that year
  13. #3 do you mean this link? Worked for me https://jbcollier.smugmug.com/Lotus-Seven-S3/ Presumably the chassis should have the Arch Motors chassis no stamped on top of one of the rear damper mount platforms
  14. This should be the one: BHM7107 - Mini steering lock and switch genuine minispares 76-96
  15. I presume you are talking about the wedge shaped reservoir. I may have one from the M/C I had to replace on mine. Where are you based?
  16. Sorry, that was only to identify the box. I did not intend to imply it was a guide. I probably have something on the 3 rail version of the 2000E box if that is any use
  17. According to Burton the type 3 is a single rail version of the Ford 4 speed Ford Type 3 Gearbox Guide (burtonpower.com)
  18. The diagram on it says it is a changeover relay with a diode across the coil. This is a similar one on Halfords (not same number though) Halfords HEF559 Relay 12V 40A 5 PIN | Halfords UK The suggested applications are listed as: Electric sunroof / Dashboards / ECU / Automatic transmission / Petrol pump Central locking / Anti-lock brakes / Air conditioning / Circuit boards How many of those do you have?
  19. Roger, is your 1958 Frogeye registered in the "historic vehicle" tax class? These are exempt from ULEZ charges
  20. Halfords have quite a range of replacement mirror glass. Might be worth making a paper template and taking it in to compare. All seem to be in the £7 to £9 range (pre club discount)
  21. Photo of a Cibie from my RHD Mini (changed because of the stone chip). Yes arrow indicates direction of dip
  22. A wide variety of adaptors is available e.g. from Merlin Gauge Fittings, Accessories and T Pieces from Merlin Motorsport You just need to identify the two threads
  23. I think this thread is about the full aluminium body panels, stainless would be a bit heavy and anodising would be tricky
  24. Yes he does but this question is about a 2003 1.6 K Roadsport EU3
