DJ.
A month ago, my screen was damaged by a stone. Definitely an MOT failure, I got on to my insurers and paid the excess. The screen company were helpful, and agreed to supply a screen for me to fit. Since then they have been trying to get Caterham to supply a screen. Calls to Dartford apparently never get to the correct person and messages to call back aren't returned. In a week and a half I'm off to Scotland, so it is very lucky my Seven is still drivable. Does anyone have a contact at Caterham who could help me with this? Duncan
Titanium7
It's appalling, no screens for months now. Promises of 'a few weeks' but never in stock.
Smithy77
Its is such a shame that the cars we love come from such an awful company at present. I've not had a single good experience with Caterham.I'm sorry I can't help with your problem, but interested to hear how you get on.

Grubbster
I bet they have a few spare ones in the support truck for the racers (Academy and Roadsport), I wonder how they prioritise who gets them when supply is limited?
Titanium7
Jon Vicker (top bloke) has lent me a second hand one whilst we wait (including him) for CC to get some into stock. Its been months since the parts website has shown them in stock.
simon_h
Production will have priority over aftersales. All aftersales is now through Crawley I think not Dartford.
DJ.
Thanks for the offer John, fortunately the bullet mark in mine is below my sight line, and hasn't spread so far. Sounds like I'm not the only one waiting
Paul Deslandes
Have you looked at a repair, even temporary, to get you by. I have the same problem, caused by the windscreen wiper being pulled back to clean the screen and then flicking back end-on so the end of the metal strip hit the glass.Don't the racers use non-heated screens? Grubbster
Original fit in the race cars will be heated as they have to pass IVA and be road legal but you're probably right about replacements, most likely they'll go for whatever is cheapest or available. RS2000
On a previous post about lack of supply of windscreens someone posted this:Don't know about windscreen replacement companies in UK, but here in NZ most of the big companies will cut a laminated screen, tinted if you want, to the pattern of your one. DJ.
Good idea, fortunately, I got my MOT in April, and can drive the car OK.A kind member has offered me an unmarked 2nd hand screen, but having paid the insurance excess I'm going to have to stick with the screen company I'm dealing with.It is frustrating though, and doesn't enhance the experience of owning a Caterham

Roger Ford
If you are worried about the MOT just take it offDon't need a heated screen for MOT, only for IVA.

Philip L Anderson
Having a broken windscreen, and waiting several months for Caterham to replenish their stock, I gave up and got a replacement Series 3, polished aluminum windscreen from Redline a few weeks ago.
