    215 Vauxhall

I am selling this car on behalf of a dear old friend and customer. 1996 215bhp Vauxhall with cycle wings 30000 miles with a full history It will come with one years MOT It has always been garaged and is in beautiful bright Rover nightfire red The car has not had any track days being owned by somebody who is now to old to know better. This is a really nice genuine car which has now to fast for it’s enthusiastic owner who is beginning to feel his years. It can be viewed in Tunbridge Wells Kent or Cambridge. £12500. 01892 540828 or 07946 634021
  2. I was at Gary’s Friday and he mentioned he was at Brands on a track day soon why not phone him to see if you can go out in a pushrod. I appreciate it is not a five minute jaunt for you. Being completely biased as I had some thing to do with the development superwide pushrod is so superior to any thing else out there including CSR, what about ringing Gary and ask him to put you in touch with customers who have swapped to get an impartial opinion. As you may know I now have no attachment to Freestyle anymore.
  3. Honda Civic Sport 1.6 V-Tec 3 Door coupe Nov 2004 on a 54 plate Metallic Blue / Grey 39000 miles Full Honda service history from supplying dealer Because of the age it still has 16 months full Honda warranty left coupled with RAC membership, being a Honda though your never likely to need them. All the usual extras:- Air-con CD player Heated mirrors. Sport seats Side air bags Auto seat belt tensioner ABS. Honda 16 inch alloys Looks much the same as the type R with the Honda body kit but cheap insurance The car has the type R lowered and stiffened suspension which has the renowned rear twin link suspension, all coupled with the fantastic V-Tec. I got the car for my wife as she always has Honda’s she fell in love with the looks of the type R but it that was just too much so I got her the Sport but after a couple of months she finds the ride to firm and now she now wants another Accord. Book trade in price is £9300 with a private retail price of about £9500- 9800. I got the car trade and I am happy to pass on the car at £7800. But there is one thing the roof has four small indentations, hence the price, Tony TSK said they are an easy fix. giving a lot of value in it whether you fix the indents or not. The car drives as new and still has the new car smell You can ring me on 01892 540828 / 07946 634021 for pictures and more information.

  7. Can I first apologise if any has taken offence at the advert, an old mate of mine and a member of my club Old F**Ts racing has asked me if Freestyle would be interested in the bits. We said no but I offered to help a mate, a seven owner and all round good guy, as he is not fully conversant with anything with a key board. His original intention was to build a Turbo Vx but other projects got in the way, like earning a living, Yes the price is expensive but all the parts are new and because the car is registered no SVA is needed which means no restriction on engines now or at MOT time. The price of the project is what the guy paid for it if you think it is expensive do what Gary and I did say ‘to expensive’ he asked me to put it on at that price and that’s what I did. No doubt after all this correspondence he will be up for an offer! Edited by - Len Unwin on 22 Apr 2005 14:05:22

  9. In the real world no problem, because the fronts do not lift the front of the car linier and the rears do you will move a bit more weight to the front and hence upset the corner weights but it is like saying if you cut your hair and trim your finger nails there is less weight on your corner so the weights have moved. Just let’s say it will affect it less than losing a sump and 4 litres of mobile 1
  10. We have part exchanged a stunning 1600 Supersport six speed for our Duratec demonstrator. The car was factory built in 2000 and has been pampered all its life with a mileage of only 7000. It looks stunning in unmarked Honda Supersonic Blue paint work and will come with a 6 month warranty [Caterham is 3 on used cars] as we realise the car is that good. We can put on any of our options if required and we will give a full set up to the new owners requirments.£15250 or offers For more details please ring Len at Freestyle 01892 540828 /07946 634021 for more details.

  14. V7SLR I will e mail you our picking list. The kit includes top and bottom wishbones, top has spherical joint / ball joint conversion and lower comes with a new upright spherical joints and both have new standard metalastic bushes. Two pushrods with left and right hand pushrods, hopefully one of each on each rod! So the ride height and corner weights can be adjusted by turning the arm. Interestingly when we corner weight a car we found you can leave the car on the scales turn the pushrod and just 'dial in' what ever you are looking for across the front. Two rockers with all the internal bearings, Damper tower and supports, two fully adjustable Avo alloy dampers with springs, top hose and all hardware, including new Caterham front suspension bolt kit. We do a roll bar kit which fits inside the nose, and like our normal one is a 'twisting blade' type adjustable, but if you have read the article in Track and Race Car magazine you see we set our best time with it disconnected although we have now made one which is even softer, quite honestly, unless you are running very grippy tyres or slicks as Dave K does we think it is best without, see EVO article this month.
  15. Just back from a new year getaway. Alex and Peter best give me a ring 01892 540828 / 07946 634021 and I hopefully will sort things out.
  16. Jimmeyslr. I know most of the guys who own Sevens and most will be reading the mag at WHS not actually buying it. Also we may not want the results known depending on the times.
  17. Thanks for the nice comments guys. we are trying to get back to Brands for another track day, think it is on, or about 19th, if any of you want to come down and have a ride out, can't promise a drive, but you are all welcome. We are very pleased with the car and have just got it back from a magazine who are doing an article on it. They wired it up with there own telemetry on there own track and they use the same driver, not ‘The Stig’, so it can be as accurately compared to a whole range of cars, both road and race. The car was taken to Silverstone the weekend before to set it up but as you all know, especially Bowser, it was so slippery we could not do any worthwhile set up work, so unfortunately the magazine got it pretty much out of the box. Sorry I cannot tell you how we got on as the mag as made it clear we must not say anything and besides they had to download the data back at the office for the full story. I will however tell you when the magazine is out and you can read the article, which we have not seen, to see how we got on.

    Spax Regulation

Very highly regarded on this board' Donuts on me xflow7 Thanks.
  19. B11 Moy went to Snetterton after being converted to pushrod it maybe that he will be along to report and after speaking to Richard in France at the weekend he seems very pleased with the set up as well. It is very dangerous to say on the internet but I can only say we have not had one negative response from any pushrod customer. As for price we actually earn very little on the pushrod set up, none if we were to price in development costs, anybody want 6 pair of dampers that will not fit any Seven let alone any other car. We wanted alloy dampers as standard with spherical joints and adjustable for stiffness, and, we think, it is good value compared to the adjustable Bilstein dampers sold by the factory, or even a Nitron set. You pays your monies and take your choice. I will say though having driven only pushrod cars for a while I realise how spoilt I have become when going into a standard car. I, like every body else, can’t wait to drive the factory car speaking to the guy’s from the factory over the weekend they can’t wait either to see how it goes. Open invite to all we are at Silverstone come down and I can’t promise a go on the circuit, we have enough test drivers booked in already, good morning tight fart, luxemburger, Billy and Chris, but we will let you take it for a trip round the paddock to get a feel before we take you out on the track.
  20. Not sure Gary knows, and the supergrad is diffent from the standard one.
  21. Dino you are right of course, in our world it is all a matter of opinions and one mans perfect car is another’s pig. The nice thing is though we do have the stopwatch which is a strong argument one way or another, although I do have a very thick book of 'driver excuses'. Funny enough our cars have never won a race but the drivers we run in them have won lot's, and our drivers have never lost a race but, there again, the cars have lost a few.
  22. Forgot, When we got together with AVO for the project we, well I, asked the question, about heat sink on the dampers, They said and I quote 'if the paint on the dampers does not bubble it will be alright' and if it does you still have some way to go before there is a problem.
  23. We are hoping to be at Silverstone at the club track day and will be giving rides, in the super wide track car with a 213 Minister Duratec, whilst setting the car up which will be interesting for the passengers. We don't think that IRS is the answer, at Brands the Japanese car was we believe 230 bhp not sure of the weight of the driver but we beat that with a 750 car, well done Peter, BUT we could be wrong it would be nice to see the factory car at Silverstone so we could compare times.
