  1. Not sure if it is any help, but i have a cooling system pressure tester if you're really pushed.
  2. Are you closing your vents when you get out? Some alarms can be susceptible to falsing when the blower vents are left open to the windscreen, if you have ultrasonics. This can be caused by something as simple as sunlight hitting the car(regular ish timing), causing the air in the car to circulate....Just food for thought.
  3. Weather wasn't too bad, vis was >2000m and cloudbase was above 700ft.We can live with that.
  4. Spotted about 15 today roaring around, along with an odd assortment of others(BMW Minis,Morgan,Radical,Marcos....) We were the idiots in the Black and Silver Jetranger having to slide the skids as we taxied downwind.
  5. Me too,but i keep thinking it may come in useful for throwing at the idiot who keeps trying to wheelie past my house on a supermotard. It would be fine if he could actually lift the wheel a decent height.....
  6. This is for anyone planning to turbocharge their 7.This was fitted to my YB Cosworth powered 7 until last winter when i upgraded (everything) and fitted a chargecooler set up. This alloy intercooler will fit in front of any Caterham rad, and will fit within the standard nose requiring no mods to the nose or rad.It comes with all brackets to do this. The car was running a reliable 290 bhp with this fitted. Looking for £100 The unit is in Fareham if anyone wants a brew and a gander at it. Pics on request
  7. I was under the impression that the MT box was the weker of the Cossie boxes, the T5 being the bullet proof bugger?
  8. Keep the low compression pistons, fit a turbo........
  9. Can anyone tell me how to check a ballast resistor? What are the symptoms of failure?Total lack of spark or reduced power of spark? Are they generic or specific to the ignition system they are fitted to? What sort of resistance should i be seeing across it? Any help gratefully appreciated.
  10. If it's the switch i am thinking of, good luck,my friend re did the dash in his Cobra rep, and ran into issues with this switch. It took quite a while and a relay.
  11. Go have a peek, seems to be little bidding going on. Set of 4 steel rods for the 2.0 and a steel faced ali flywheel for the same. Nothing to do with me.
  12. 147 on the rear wheel... Blimey, that's err, good for a duke.........Must have had other work done surely!
  13. I guess any spot that has the ideal dimensions to fit would work.My reply was to my interpretation of you wanting to use the original indicator lenses. What about NVG instead.........Going to look dead cool, and you'd see the bunnies coming. Good luck on your quest.
  14. It does have a steel ring gear and clutch face insert. It still weighs 3.5 kg with the ring gear and steel face.It is still less than the 12kg standard flywheel. It's still 8.5 kg less than the standard set up.It's still not as light as a smaller clutch/steel wheel set up.But it makes a hell of a difference to my YB Again, if i am missing something I am open to explanation!
  15. Well,if the original flywheel weighed 12kg, and the aluminium one weighed 3.5kg, i make it an 8.5 kg saving. Forgive me if I am being dumb, but the clutch may enable further reductions if you go the smaller route. In my scenario the clutch has nothing to do with the weight savings. I await correction!
  16. Maybe to enable the use of a standard size clutch?
  17. Remind me which cylinder let go on the shuttle.......
  18. My Caterham has a Fidanza Ali flywheel in it. Ring gear and friction surface is steel. Weighs 3.5KG Standard flywheel was 12KG Engine is 2.0 YB Cos Turbo. When you say "aren't worth the money really", i would be cautious cutting the corner too much on a lightened flywheel, as a failure might cost you more than a rebuild.. It looked so well made i didn't want to fit it but hang it over the mantle......
