  1. This prob won't help you lot too specifically. I fitted a Fidanza ali flywheel to the Cosworth YB engine in my cat over the winter. It weighs 9 kg lighter than the standard Ford item.I am using the standard clutch. It has made a stunning difference in engine responsiveness and pick up.The only downside is a small amount of hunting hen the engine is just coming off coldstart. Also the YB feels much smoother through the rpm range.I have no issues with aluminiun is used and specced correctly.Anyone watche the wings on the last flight they went on? If you see the material spec and the quality of the Fidanza wheels you may well agree with me, but each to their own.I must admit i struggled to fit it as i thought it looked better on the mantlepiece, although the missus didn't see my point.....
  2. Masha, Goodluck selling the car, it this had been 3 months ago we would have been seriously tempted to come and have a look.We have a Smart cab on the fleet at the moment, and love small different cars, even though I'm 6'3+!! I was prompted to reply just because of this comment. "No disresepct ,but if youv'e spent 3K restroing this pile of pooh ,you need your head examing -and you dont have a hope of getting anything like that back" I think most people on this forum plough money into their cars for the enjoyment, not purely for financial gain at the end of the ownership. Good luck selling it Matt.
  3. Richard, is this for a carbon one? And when will you be making a carbon boot cover?lol
  4. Sorry to hear that Adam,I too replied to this thread extremely early on and heard nothing back, kind of guessed nothing would come from it.But that is rough, hope you didn't have too far to travel.... Shame the world is so full of messers.
  5. Scotchlocks? Crikey, you're brave...
  6. I too have had this problem, would anyone care to forward the wiring diagram to me and the parts list? Many thanks in advance.
  7. Adam, Thanks for takin the time to reply. I did reply to this posting but heard zilch back as usual.!
  8. As the title suggests, am looking for a central carbon rear view mirror(not holding my breath on this one), and a fuel gauge please. Many thanks in advance
  9. Many thanks for all who expressed an interest. All items now sold after much ado. Many thanks to the purchaser for a swift and pleasant sale.
  10. Standard fitment alloy rad now sold. All other parts still available, inc intercooler !!
  11. Apologies for the delay in replying on here. I have sent many e-mails in reply to various questions. All parts are still for sale. Yes I will split them. No i am not posting/sending by carrier/pigeon post or whatever is most effective to Wales! I am prepared to help out with meeting half way or the likes for a small fuel contribution. No the hoist/stand will not fit in a Caterham! Many thanks for reading.
  12. I am NOT posting an engine crane! If you want it i am prepared to meet you somewhere like the Severn crossing for a little fuel. New prices.I think i paid about 170 for the crane, the leveller was around 23,and the stand was taken for a favour owed. These are from memory,so please double check on machine mart's site.
  13. I have for sale the following: Alloy radiator for a Caterham 7, I believe it to be the high capacity type and it is of standard fitment.Offers by e-mail 2 small SPAL rad fans, they measure 8" each and are ideal for oil cooler apps or any tight space. These were bought brand new in January this year, and have covered less than 800 miles on the car.Immaculate.These little fellows move a lot of air.Offers by e-mail 1 alloy intercooler to fit in front of a Caterham alloy rad.Includes all mounts to fit the standard pick up points on the chassis.I don't expect to sell this on here to be honest but will post on other forums too.Offers again by e-mail. If any one needs any photographs then please do not hesitate to contact me and i will endeavour to get them sent off to you asap.
  14. I have for sale one Clarke 1000kg engine hoist( so should just cope with the VX brigade!!).It is the folding type and is free standing and wheelable whilst folded. It occupies approximately 12"x12" of floor space when folded. This has been used for one engine out/in and is therefore sold as immaculate. Also for sale one Britool engine stand. It is in good condition but has a few scrapes etc on it( but let's not be too vain guys!)It is the type that enables you to rotate the engine through 360 deg to allow work to be carried out on the bottom end or top with ease. Clarke engine leveller. To be used with an engine hoist, this enables you to hang the engine and box at any angle you require, essential when considering the angle the engine and box has to be at when threaded into the chassis of the Caterham.enables the whole process to be controlled millimetre by mil, and lessens the chance of dinked bodywork! I am looking for £175 for the whole lot Buyer collects from Southampton area, or delivery can be arranged for a nominal fee E-Mail me through blatchat or call me on 07930150578
  15. lmao, it usually is but not this time! BTTT
  16. Slightly off topic this one chaps, and i am going to be a little vague. A good friend of mine has a Cobra replica(it's an AK), and it has a RPI 4.6 V8 in it, running the Jag IRs rear end.He informs me it has a Powerlock(?) LSD in it.On a run today under good power, the diff has started squealing, continuing until the power is reduced.I know it's a long shot, but with such a knowledgable pool here i said to him i'd pop a post up.Could it be something as simple as incorrect oil,(as i believe the oil was topped up over the winter) or something far more sinister? Many thanks in advance
  17. I think you need to check and see what £500 gets you new these days and recalibrate accordingly!
  18. It sounds like the crappy cork gasket between the sender unit and the tank.It runs over the front of the tank, and drips out off the bottom.Jack it up and have a look for the telltale stains from beneath. If it is it's a bootfloor ut job, ours went last weekend, andit's only a 40p gasket, but the newer one is a rubber affair. This is spooky as i have literally just washed my hands having finished doing ours. Good luck
  19. How much do you want to pay me for the pics?
