  1. It's only an interference fit. So either ease the spring tighter or nip the female bit up or slightly twist or bend the male end bit (ooer!)
  2. Hi, I'm in the process of ordering and awaiting new CORE dampers from Meteor and previously had a pit and level garage floor which made setting ride height easy. Used to raise it for visiting Ireland to 1 foot (nearly ) I don't have a pit or a level garage floor anymore but can level it with plywood pieces under 3 wheels. Are the adjusters at the spring or damper end and which way are they mounted, spring end at the top or bottom? If the adjusters are at the bottom near to the Dedion can they be got at Also they will have progressive rear springs and looking at previous postings referring to progressives the rake has been mentioned as being 35mm as apposed to what used to be 15mm for linear springs. Once I get them I'll obviously talk to Simon but I'd like a few ideas please. Already juicing all the bolts and especially the lower wishbone ones with copious amounts of Plusgas.
  3. re #5. If that red button was used round these parts you'd get your car kicked in when (IF EVER) you managed to get past the throng of lycra
  4. Just a thought? is the auto braking snatching on on one side every time you back off the throttle?? Had a problem with one side locking up the wheel so that it smoked, got hot then released with the next throttle lift off causing the trailer to brake again.
  5. Don't need a sun blind Just shut your eyes
  6. My two pence worth! If you have the half hood these old full hood bags make an excellent carry all for extra bits when touring and just drop in the foot well over night. (can even put a piece of guttering inside to keep it ridged) Probe2 - good luck
  7. It must be my 6th sense that I didn't set off. Not overly clear but he's obviously saving 3 fingers for something else!
  8. Hi, Chris. Hope you had a good run? We were on our way back from Filey (Reighton Gap) where an ex colleague of swmbo Anne has just bought a renovation property with 5 acres and many out buildings overlooking Filey bay and Brigg. Good slow run out and quicker run back. Just wish some folk would be brave enough to overtake cyclists, caravans and horse boxes grrr! rog
  9. I've had a reply from another 'Ringautomotive' contact I found and they replied "I am sorry, I am not allowed to provide the information you have requested". At least it means that I've saved that employee from being shot
  10. Hi, all. Thanks for the input, I've still not seen anything remotely like the thing on the end of my pipe. I think I'll cut the 'funny' end off and insert a 1/4 BSP tail into the pipe so I can fit almost anything easily available. rog
  11. Hi all. I have purchased a Ring RAC900 air pump (and yes. It IS very fast at pumping tyres up) However I would like to fit a different tyre inflator gauge to it and looked for a new FEMALE coupler to fit to this inflator gauge. But I can't find out what make or size the existing MALE connector is. I "think" it's an 'automotive' fitting but can't find anything like this. I have contacted Ring but they don't know what the connector make/type/size is The FEMALE coupler I want to fit the male (in the photo) into ideally needs a 1/4" BSP male thread (the coupler {just} in the photo has a much smaller male thread it's 9.5mm diameter and the nut is 14mm across flats) Anybody know what and what size this is please?
  12. It's an 'AMP' 2 pin water rail connector plug. There should be a way of getting the socket connector out BUT just in case it breaks I may need to source a new one. cheers FOUND IT. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=85&t=1586298
  13. Experience says that when there's over an inch of water in your foot wells on the Isle of Skye. Take them out and drill a couple of 1/8" holes to let the water (that collects under the mats, then over the mats) drain out.
  14. BRILLIANT - just what the doctor ordered egg fried NOODLES. cheers, rog
  15. Anybody know if you can purchase the bellows that fit over the last bit of the hanbrake cable please??

    Oil

A very good site of reference above Can of worms (or can of bits of foam) to be opened up?? don't do the foam baffle change - BIN it and do the sump gasket mod.
  17. AND LOOK AT THE SIDES - This is before and after. 21 year old car used all weathers and after new sides and lowered floor 2 years ago And this how it gets looked after............................
  18. Have CC replaced the bearing or just tightened it up? Suspect the latter!. I'd be inclined to ask for a new bearing as the original one can't be in too good a shape after the grinding. Also presume the "pulling" has sorted itself out now? rog
  19. Bit OT but check your hoses regularly. Completely OT. Have a look at my boiler flow link pipe, this went with an almighty whoosh a couple of months ago on a Saturday night and fixed by Sunday lunch. The hose must have been perished a long time and finally gave up. The new hose (clicked & collected from Halford's) 10 bar & 120 degs C more than covered the spec. I'd have never got a plumber so quick (or so cheap) and I have 60cm of spare 19mm heater hose Boiler got it's annual last month and they never mentioned (noticed) the new hose dated May this year and I'd hovered the moths out and cleaned the boiler insides.
  20. Anybody got one lying around please? If so blat mail me please
  21. If the SPA mirror is convex? (looks it) Yes please. email sent Rog
  22. Interesting thought Grumpy - I wonder of the rivets were ever there (I don't look under the car often). Stephen hi, This was a day after collecting the car after a reskin, respray and new lowered floor from one of the very recommended dealers often praised here on BC. There were numerous defects (including a leaking brake pipe union which had dripped onto the paintwork and blistered it, fortunately under the front rail so it's not seen) rivet missing from the bonnet catch, nose cone dzus only had 1 rivet holding it in place due to broken fibre glass, 2 heater fixings broken and a broken pin in the side repeater plug (which took an hours diagnosing). Not to mention crinkly armourfend. They did offer to fix the defects after seeing the photos but I couldn't face another two x 400 plus mile round trips for the fixes which I repaired easily enough with a few rivets, fibre matting and some touch up paint but the armourfend still looks like Stevie Wonder fitted it.
  23. You don't need ALL the rivets ............ my car came back after new sides, lowered floor and a full respray with a floor pan rivet missing.
