  1. Hi Rog. It was great to see you. I love the colour of your car btw! The reg number made me chuckle too. I was on my way back from a fab day at Cadwell Park, heading back to Holmfirth. I was a tad tired, but still grinning (still am) :-D Chris.
  2. I enjoyed the couple of miles we shared before I went North and you went South on the M1.
  3. Metallic grey (?) with double stripe: YK14 EWI? Sounded very nice too!! Chris
  4. I'm looking to adopt a similar door mirror setup for my 310S - has anyone got a current option for this mounting bracket (I'm happy with the proposed SPA style mirrors to connect to it)? Or at least a template for the brackets to be made? A key point here is to ensure the door opens fully without knocking the mirror. Thanks.
  5. Very interesting: my newly built 310S (S3) has the same issue - weak NS handbrake. I'd be interested in the cause and fix. My gut is thinking it's cable related...
  6. I'm with Charles - it feels way too early for a first start. Am I right in thinking the Lambda sensor needs to be connected for example? My money is on some aspect of the incomplete build such as loose/ missing connection. Maybe crack on until drive train is in and all wiring other that lights is complete, you'll remove a load of possible causes.
  7. I have to say Derek has been nothing but helpful for me during my build. Concise, certainly, but hasn't hesitated in sending me missing/ replacement parts, and responds quickly.
  8. And the answer is..... 'That connector is no longer used.' Derek. Thanks all for trying to help, apols for the false alarm/ anti-climax. Cheers, Chris.
  9. Thanks Eek, yes I noticed that. Isn't the wiper motor behind the dash (new build 310S S3)? This short cable is miles away form there (by the battery/ pedal box in the engine bay). Or is there a related connection in this vicinity - I just cannot find anything obvious.
  10. Lambda is all connected up Mark; green connector - perfect fit and appropriate length cable. This one is on a very short cable from the car side loom (close to the main connector). Feeling a Derek email looming...
  11. So I had a look at the main loom connector and no obvious connection point for 1. there. Picture below of wire colours (I figure better to provide pic rather than try and describe. Bracing myself for this being embarrassingly obvious...
  12. Thanks Jim, will post colours of wires when I get back tonight. As well as check the ECU (this could prove embarrassing....) Cheers, Chris.
  13. Thanks Jim. Makes sense re the front. The Lambda sensor is in place and cabled up (green connector), so it's not that... Chris.
  14. Plumbing and wiring all done but I appear to have two spare connectors off the loom (pics below): 1. Connector by +ve battery terminal/ pedal box - very short cable but I cannot find a home for this. Appears similar to connectors onto engine. 2. Twin spade connector by radiator fan and horn - long cable, but appears superfluous on this build. I wondered if intended for cars with coolant top-up warning (if such exist). Any thoughts? Are they ok to ignore?
