  1. It takes about 20 minutes to swap to a mechanical gauge ....
  2. Recent (well compared to my 2002) cars with rear wheel Speedo sensor. I have seen a car immobilised completely after the cable to the sensor chafed through and shorted on the chassis. Seems the cable was over long and factory build looped it and cable tied to chassis.
  3. Definitely a Cambridge. If only we had kept them and the boxes. Loved the gold 007 DB5 and always hankered after the Citroen estate for the winter Olympics ... Grenoble 1968 I guess.
  4. #36 .... and no doubt then immediately found the lost ones ?
  5. Nut and bolt as above. Simple and efficient.
  6. Looks like the driving school Corgi model I had in the 1960s ... with the red steering wheel set in the roof.
  7. The original poster has gone very quiet !
  8. Second the suggestion to unplug the connector to the lambda sensor. Mine started running really rough. Unplugged sensor, returned to normal. Found number etched on sensor and sourced on line.

    Bodywork repair

Ha. They all do that. How small ? Try heating a spoon and gently stroking/pressing it from the inside while supporting the outside on a firm surface. Obviously need heat proof gloves and do it very gently so you don't reverse the dent !!
  10. Thought this was about a dental problem ! How about a sports trophy shop where they engrave trophies or plates. Sure they can make you something from scratch.
  11. Try your local auto electrical workshop for a test and overhaul
  12. Stupid question, but I assume the battery is still healthy and all cables connected ... you seem to have replaced almost everything else !
  13. Holy thread resurrection Batman !!
  14. #12 ... that is precisely my point. You would have to buy 2 sets of 4 and share with another car ! Not for me.
  15. DT £120 for a set of 4 (and then all 4 the same thread). Also shown as a 'clearance' item, so maybe not being supplied for much longer ?
  16. The Ford Type 9 5-speed gearbox is much nicer for road touring. 4000rpm in ours gives 80mph. The 6 speed gives 80mph at 5000rpm in 6th, which is a real pain on a long journey.
  17. Ours on a 2002 Rover engined SV works well. I can run it down to the R position and into the red and it keeps going !
  18. I got fed up with the rod end bearings wearing and rattling, so changed from Watts Link back to single trailing radius arm suspension. Just needs 2 radius arms with bushes. So much nicer.
  19. You can always fit foam or other in-ear plugs under the ear defenders if you have chunky spectacle frames. If you wear a baseball cap, do pull the sides of the cap out from the ear defender cushions. This makes a big difference.
  20. You can adjust the length of front and rear radius arms to centralise the deDion tube in the wheel arch. If you don't get it square, the steering will be pulling one way or the other ! You can push the deDion left or right to get things to line up once car raised and chassis supported on axle stands, so suspension is at full droop. It will just be hanging by the dampers at this point.
  21. You can't beat a mechanical barrier.
  22. X5A give better protection. You are still aware of the exhaust note but not at a level to cause any concern.
