  1. I fitted Protech one way adjustable dampers and new springs from ProComp Motorsport to my SV. They revalved the dampers to suit the 7. Front springs 300lb rears 185lb linear. Considerably cheaper than other options
  2. #4 ..... The VVC mechs were originally designed and calibrated using 10W40 oil
  3. Up to £35 already. BlatChat orders probably triggered it.
  4. What mileage on engine ? When was the oil last changed ? Any other symptoms ?
  5. Removed ours after years of soakings on European tours, and staying wet for days as it was trapped under the seats. Much better without.
  6. I have carpet on the tunnel sides. Removed it from floor and replaced foot well area with 6mm fine ribbed rubber matting bought by the metre on eBay
  7. And beware the corrosion inside the headlight stay tube if an older car. I had to get a tiny round wire brush to push through the bore to make it smooth enough to feed the cables through after a fight removing them.
  8. If you determine the thread, just buy a magnetic sump plug anywhere on line. Nothing magical about it being in a Caterham
  9. Boy, there's a lot of it about tonight !!
  10. Have you got Voltage ok into the unit ?
  11. Oil, not grease. Remove excess.
  12. Your reported wandering could also be related to top wishbone rod ends. You need to lift the front of the car and wiggle the wheels top and bottom to look for play at all joints.
  13. Check the track rod ends. They can develop extreme play or seize up. Easy to swap. Don't even need to raise the car off the ground. Once you cut the cable ties on the gaiter and crack the lock nut you can unscrew the tie rod from the track rod end. Count the turns or mark thread with paint. There are two spanner flats on the tie rod. Remove driver side gaiter on steering rack and apply grease to rack teeth and wind from lock to lock to disperse it.
  14. Polarity connection ok ? LEDs have to have correct polarity of course
  15. Take the pedal box cover off and get better access ?

I use concrete blocks to load the car to simulate weight of driver and passenger.

60mm ... with your weight in the car ? Unladen can make a big difference

A race car may well be too low. With your weight in the car, you want at least 70mm for safe road use. Stiffer springs help to maintain this in high speed compressions. Edited to correct typo to mm
