  2. As the title really. Taken from my 2002 car. Comes complete with centre horn push (but horn disabled) with Caterham 7 badge in the centre. In my opinion the wheel is in very good condition with no damage. I could send pictures via blatmail if required. £50 + postage. Stuart

  4. I have just refitted the engine and gearbox (thanks Klunk) after having some work done at Road and Race but cannot remember which way the heater cable works. Is it pushed in for on or pulled out? Worse thing is, the cable did not need removing in the first place

  8. Grubbster. How did you stop the windscreen frame from tapping on the scuttle? On our car it drives us barmy. I have tried all sorts of solutions but open to more. Stuart

  11. Hi Roy. It was you I think going towards Rugeley this morning at about 09:30. We were in the Mazda going the opposite way. Stuart and Sue
  12. Hi Mankee Thanks for the offer of the oil. I will try to source some locally tomorrow. If I have a problem I will blatmail you. I have checked again tonight and so far no more leaks. I just hope that it does not mean that the gearbox is empty . I will get the filler plug off tomorrow and see what I find.
  13. Thanks for the prompt reply Ian. Initially, I want to top up the gearbox with whatever is deemed to be standard oil as that is almost certainly is what is in it. I am pretty busy over the next couple of weeks and cannot see me getting the time to drain and refill as I want to use the car while the weather is holding. I would like to find the leak before draining and refilling completely. Stuart

    gearbox oil

After being laid up for a couple of weeks while we were away, I noticed today, a small puddle of oil under the gearbox. It is gearbox oil and I would say that the puddle amounted to about 100ml (but who knows really). I have checked underneath and can see no obvious leaks from speedo drive, reversing light switch or seal from gearbox to prop shaft. The only noticeable spot of oil was on the centre bolt that goes through the gearbox mount and after talking to Richard Price, this bolt goes into a blank threaded hole. Any ideas where this oil could be coming from? The rest of the gearbox assembly looks quite dry. My plan now is to check the oil level and watch for any further leaks and then decide what to do from there really. My question is "what oil do I put in the gearbox?" ( Type 9 five speed ) Stuart
  15. Hi DDubya Try Redline. I got mine from there. Stuart
  16. Hi Gav. No doubt someone more "teccy" will be along soon but when I had mine fitted at Powerspeed, it was only the part of the alternator that has the wires coming from it that was moved. They took it off and as you say, they turned it 180 deg's. I think it sits too near to the first primary if not moved.
  17. Thanks for all of the replies. Rang Carl at "7" Speed today. Stuart
  18. Hi Lee. Doing a google for P.G.M brings up lots of things non related. Do you have a number for Andy?
  19. Not quite. Very similar to the bottom ones in the link to E-Bay. The ones that I saw only had "Caterham" on them and not "Caterham Motorsport". I was told that they come in several colours as well.
  20. After seeing so many really nice examples of our cars at Beualieu yesterday and realising that no two of them are the same, I have a question. Where can I buy the side stripe decals that seem so popular? I was told that E-Bay have them, but after a good trawl around their site I have drawn a blank. I cannot seem to find them on the Caterham "online store" either. Can someone help? Stuart
  21. RX61 JNJ travelling on the A51 towards Lichfield at about 14:30 this afternoon.
  22. Hi Paul. Not a bad job to do. The clips on the casing can be a bit of a problem. If you break any of them, give me a shout as I have quite a few spare ones that you can have. As for coolant loss, yes you will lose some of it, but if you are patient re-filling the system, you should not have any problems. Stuart
  23. Hi Paul. Is your heater the one with the "7" embossed into the casing? If it is, I have changed one of these on my 2002 car. If it is the same as mine, you should be able to take the matrix out of the Black plastic casing that it is in. A replacement matrix is available from Claytons in Coventry. If you Google "Claytons Coventry" you will see their website. They are not cheap, but cheaper than a complete replacement from CC. My original one had the KL Automotive sticker on it too. This company were bought out by another company that trades in Tamworth whose name escapes me at the moment, but I remember them telling me that the coolant attacks the plastic parts of the matrix and eventually results in leaks.
