  1. Hi Delbert. We had just been up to the Ponderosa cafe. Brilliant day for a blat. Stuart and Sue
  2. Blue with white stripe on Lichfield Street around 5.45 tonight, nice evening for it.
  3. This morning around 9.15am at Dove Holes on the way to Castleton, aeroed two up. Not the best of weather at that point!
  4. Selling on behalf of my son. Trek Elite 8.6 (2014 model) Mountain Bike - 47cm (18.5in) in white/red/black. Fully maintained and in good condition - only ridden around 25 times! Photos available if interested via email. £500 before it goes on eBay. Son visits most places around the country through work so COULD deliver. Regards, Stuart
  5. Hi Bob. I am no expert in coil packs but my 1.6 K Series has covered 45000 miles in 14 years and I have never had a problem with them. I very often cover mine up in the garage in September and never touch it until Mar/ April and it always starts first time. Stuart
  6. Just had another look and no sign of any broken bolt in there. Almost certain now that the bolt is M10 x 50. I will ring Redline in the morning. Paul, I had just been looking at that mod from MG before you posted. Looks good but in 8 years of owning the car I have never had a problem with this before so figure just replacing the bolt will suffice. Stuart
  7. Thanks for the replies. I can see the hole quite clearly so not sheared off thankfully. Looking at the front of the car, the bolt that is missing fits on the left hand side of the bracket. I wish I knew how to upload photos on here. There is a spacer around about an inch in length that goes in between the bracket and the engine . Stuart
  8. Thanks Ian. I will ring them in the morning. Stuart
  9. I have just discovered that there is a bolt missing from my alternator. It is on (well should be) the front of the alternator and looks like there is a spacer that goes in between the bracket and the block, at the other end of this bracket there is provision to slide the alternator up and down. I have found the spacer lying trapped in between the engine and the alternator. Would anyone know what size bolt I need to get? Stuart
  10. Hi elie. I have looked there. The guy at Faulkners reckons that because they have been powder coated (by them in a non standard colour), the etching has been coated over. Stuart
  11. Hi Ian. Thanks for the quick reply. Excuse the ignorance but that seems like quite a step change, they go up in 25lbs stages looking on Faulkners web site. Has it done the trick? Stuart
  12. I have just had my front dampers serviced at Bilstein and just fitting the springs to them. When I last changed the front springs (due to powder coating accident), I fitted 8" long ones as supplied by Faulkners and they never quite seemed the right length. The adjusters are right at the top of the threaded part of the damper and offer no adjustment. If I lower the platforms even by a few threads, the spring is rattly loose, and when I jack the car up,as the wishbone lowers the spring becomes loose. I have spoken to Faulkners today and he says that going to a 9" spring would be O.K, but he wants to know what the spring rate is. It is not marked on the spring anywhere (possibly covered up when powder coated). Would it be 150lbs? Thanks in advance of replies. Stuart
  13. Just thought I would post regarding my experience of Bilstein service. All I can say is how fantastic it is. I took my dampers over to them in Leicester a couple of weeks ago and fetched them back yesterday. To say that they look as good as new is an understatement. The guys in the service department have fantastic product knowledge and will answer any questions that you have regarding the work. Stuart
  14. Yellow yesterday around 7.15pm going into Tesco.
  15. Spotted in layby opposite the Copper Kettle Cafe on A5 around 9.30am Friday morning.

SV04 CAT Seen in the main car park in the centre of Lyndhurst about 19:00 today. Stuart and Sue
  17. Thanks for all of the really useful replies. Graham. It must be an age related thing with me forgetting about the White grease for the slides. I will take them apart again and use copper slip on the pad to caliper touching parts. Paul. Thanks for that. Sounds fairly straight forward even for me. Ian. The discs look fairly decent to be honest. John. Your idea about the p-clips sounds like a more permanent solution to fixing the pipes in place. I an going to enjoy the remainder of the good weather ( if we get any) before tackling this. I have not noticed that one wheel is dragging more than the other one, just a bigger build up of brake dust. Thanks again. Stuart
  18. Hi Paul. That all makes sense. Do the flexi hoses follow the same routing as the solid pipes and are there any do's and dont's when fitting them? Stuart
  19. Thanks for the quick replies. Jonathan. The pads are the Caterham Blue spot ones and both sides seem to be wearing the same amount and working equally. Maybe I will get this confirmed at next M.O.T in a couple of weeks. White grease was mentioned at a G.T.K.Y.7 day that I organised. Paul. I was thinking about replacing the solid pipes to flexible hoses. If they are the problem though, why do I only get it on the offside? Stuart
  20. I noticed a few months ago that the offside rear wheel on my Caterham had more brake dust collected on it than the other side. I slackened off the handbrake cable and removed the pads on both wheels, wound back the pistons, applied a minimum amount of white grease to the normal contact points on the pads before reassenbly and cleaned and greased the slides. I then pressed the brake pedal to put the pads where they should be before adjusting the handbrake cable. Still loads more dust on the offside wheel. What could I try next? Stuart
  21. Yes it was most certainly you then Nigel, glad to help with your first spotted.
  22. Hi Nigel. Can't be many with that registration, so could have been you. Definitely on your own in it with possibly a dark jacket on. Quite possibly aeroed as well. Stuart and Sue
  23. Green 7 spotted around 3.30pm in Stratford upon Avon town centre, not sure what the rest of the reg was but last 3 letters were UFO
  24. Hi Jonathon Thanks for the quick reply. Thankfully nothing that technical though. Ian, you were spot on. Cheap plastic bodies that needed earthing and now operating perfectly. Thanks again for replying Stuart
