  1. Hi Steve. Speak to Phil at Arch about refurbing the DD tube that you have. I had mine done a couple of months back and the quality of the finish is superb. They even suggested a way of getting it to them as I am a fair distance from Huntingdon. Very reasonable cost as well compared to the price of a new one. Send blat mail if you need more info. Stuart
  2. First dibs on this Stu. Bring it with you when you come round tonight. Stuart
  3. Hi Ahmed. As Ian points out it is a relatively easy job to do. What is making yours more difficult is this bolt that will not come out. Too cold for me to spend much time in my garage looking at access to the offending fastener. Not sure that removing the plastic clips will help. Good luck Stuart
  4. Hi Ahmed. If you need to get the hearter matrix out (which I presume you do), you will need to remove the fasteners indicated by your Red arrows. If they are turning can you get to the underside of the heater unit to hold the nut? The plastic rivet type fasteners are re-usable, but if you happen to damage them, I have some that I can send you. Plenty in the archives about where to get a replacement matrix from. Give our regards to Margaret. Stuart
  5. Hi Zetec. When I had my gearbox refurbed at R and R Phil told me to use 1.2ltrs of Caterham branded semi synthetic gearbox oil. He was quite specific about the quantity. IIRC, using this amount never had it coming out of the filler plug. Stuart
  6. Went and fetched my rear A Frame and Dedion tube back today after having them stripped, powder coated and rebushed by Arch. What a fantastic job they have made of them and at a very reasonable cost. I also had a pair of.new radius arms off them as old ones uneconomical to service. All in all, very pleased with the job and well worth having the work carried out by Arch. stuart
  7. Thanks for getting back Mike. I will pass on this one this time. Stuart
  8. Has your car got the headrests fitted to the seats as standard? If so, does the cover fit with them on? My headrests sit above the line where I would imagine the tonneau cover fits. Does that make sense Stuart
  9. Hi Mike. Is it one that can be fitted over headrests? If it does, 1st dibs please. Stuart
  10. Thanks for all of the replies. I have spoken to Phil at Arch and have decided it is more economical to let them sort out the refurbing of the Dedion tube, A Frame and Radius arms. stuart
  11. That was quick Jonathan. Let's hope the picture is not just for "demonstration purposes" only. Stuart
  12. Stripped various bits off the back end of car to get then re-powdercoated. Removing the old bushes looks like it could be a problem on the radius arms. The metal that they are encased in does not look strong enough to take much force or abuse with a press. I know that the hard way is to cut the rubber from them and saw them out. If the worse comes to the worse, does anyone know if new arms are supplied with the bushes already fitted. For the cost of new ones it hardly seems wort the effort to remove old ones. Any tips on removing bushes from A-Frame and De-dion tube would be appreciated. Stuart
  13. 3/8th's it is then. Thanks Ian and Bio. Stuart
  14. Thanks Ian. does anyone know for certain what the size is? Some sets contain 3/8th ones and some don't. I would like to get a set with the correct one as part of it. Stuart
  15. Stripping off the Dedion tube and other bits off the rear to have re powdercoated but have come to a standstill with the top of the damper allen bolt size. Does anyone know what size allen key is required? Standard S3 imperial chassis. Stuart
  16. That looks more like them Charles. I have ordered some off Redline now though. Should be with me tomorrow. Stuart
  17. Hi Charles Thanks for posting the link to the part pack sheets. The bolts that are the correct size from that pack are silver. I need Black ones. I am going to ring Redline today. Stuart
  18. I have done searches for "Black Panhead M5 x 20mm" bolts with both Pozi and Phillips heads but have drawn a blank. There is a local supplier that I could go to but ringing Redline will probably be easier. Thanks Jonathan and Ian for the relies. Stuart
  19. I have just took the tax disc off the car and in doing so, I have bu$%ered one of the door hinge bolts. I cannot see them on Caterhams website. What size are they and are they readily available? Stuart
  20. S.V.C will stock those. Very friendly people to deal with. Why change the mounting brackets? The 5 3/4" headlights will fit the original mounts. Stuart
  21. Spotted around 2.30pm A5 Hopwas heading from Tamworth two up, looked like you were enjoying it nice day for it once fog cleared Stuart & Sue
