  1. Hi Kevsta. I can send you photos via e-mail. No idea how to attach photos on here. If you message me on here with your E-Mail address, I can send photos when I get back home tomorrow. Stuart
  2. Following on from the threads regarding lowered headlamp brackets, I have for sale a couple of the original style brackets. They have been nylon coated and are in very good condition. £20 the pair + postage
  3. Hi Keith. Did you receive the clips that I sent you? Stuart
  4. Hi Ahmed. They are Black plastic clips. They are in two parts and to remove them, the centre pulls out first and then the outer part can easily be removed. Stuart
  5. Hi John. I am fairly certain that I have some new ones that you are welcome to. I cannot have a look until tomorrow evening,if you can wait. Stuart
  6. Thanks Ian and Duncan. I will try the emery cloth tomorrow evening. Had enough today!!! Stuart
  7. Hi DJ. I must have been replying to Ian when your post came through. Your comments make me feel more positive about the emery cloth. The bearing outer is not turning, just the inner 'sphere' as the upright is so tight in it. Stuart
  8. Hi Ian. I have had a good look at the bearing and it does not look damaged. The problem I have is that the offside upright appears to be a very tight fit in the bearing. Nearside one slides in easily. I need to try to remove/smooth the offside coating on the upright a little. I was wondering if something like emery cloth would take sufficient off the upright. It must only be a few microns thick. Stuart
  9. I have just had the uprights and steering arms re plated and decided to start putting eveything back together today. The nearside went together very easily with no problems however, the bottom of the offside upright was a very tight fit through the spherical bearing compared to the nearside one.I managed to get it in by tightening the nut which pulled it in. I then noticed that it was approx 1 mm from sitting correctly on the shoulder at the end of the thread. I foolishly used some force on the nut and noticed that when the upright moves as it would when steering, the spherical bearing was actually turning as well. I have now dismantled the offside again. I presume that the tightness is caused by the plating. How could I remove this to make it a better fit? Should I replace the offside spherical bearing just in case it is damaged? Stuart
  10. Hi Nigel. Mine have arrived too. Thanks for organising this. Stuart
  11. Thanks Richard. I will order through your link. Stuart
  12. Hii Mankee. The only contact I have had with them is through a guy called Martin. I am going over to them on Tuesday, if I can find out if James Chorlerton runs it would you like me to blat Mail you? Stuart
  13. Hi Guy. Taking them to Derby Plating Ltd on Tuesday. I have spoken with them a couple of times and they know that I want them to look like they did when they were new. I thought it was anodising, but will have a chat with them on Tuesday. Do you know what size nyloc nut it is for the track rod end? Stuart
  14. I ended up having to have them pressed out. Local garage told me that they were really tight. Does anyone know the size of the nyloc nut that fits the thread on the track rod end (Triumph Spitfire origin)? Stuart
  15. I am in the process of stripping the uprights off my car in preperation for having them reanodised to freshen them up a bit. I have them all done except the stub axle. How do you remove this? Please be very descriptive with the answer as I am not the most technically minded person you could meet. Stuart
  16. Thats the one. Thanks for the very quick reply Andrew Stuart
  17. I am doing some refurb work on the front of my car. I need to purchase two of the nuts that fasten the bottom of each of the uprights. I mean the thread that passes through the spherical bearing. I cannot find them on CC website. Could someone kindly post a link? Stuart
  18. That sounds promising. Let me know how you want paying. When do you want my address? Stuart
  19. I would be interested in a pair of these if they will definetely fit an imperial chassis ie 2002 model. Stuart
  20. Top one is 140mm X 27mm as near as damit.
  21. Hi Steven I have sent you a message. Stuart
  22. I have just completed this upgrade. I have opted for the 260mm discs and standard E.B.C pads. I also wanted to do something about the routing of the flexible hoses. The standard calipers have the entry for the banjo on the top, but the Hi Spec calipers have them on the side meaning that the route looks compromised (to me any way). I specified some 90 deg ends on the hoses to allow a better entry for the pipe. I have had none of the problems you mention. BM me if you need more details. There are some, but sorted by Hi spec. Stuart
  23. Hi Alistair. I have replied.

  25. I have uprated the front calipers on my car and have for sale the original Triumph Spitfire ones that I have took off. They are both fully serviceable and have Mintex 1144 pads fitted. £50. Collection from Staffs B79 as posting costs would be hefty due to the weight.
