  1. Eeek... Won't that scoop up any standing water - straight into the engine???

    Converted!

As I've posted may times, I never use a bash-hat - sunnies, or other eye protection, and a beanie & buff when cold... Nothing else required.

    Aero's rule!!! 😬 😬 😬
  4. Cheaper from any good Rover specialist... I had the same failure on our Elise.
  5. I have the smaller SVC headlights, with the indicators inside the headlights! Works well, and very neat... 😶‍🌫️
  6. Yes, you do need it. Those that 'appear' to not have a fan have them internally... Your alternator doesn't - and will burn-out very quickly without it. 😳 😔

    Worried...

why aren't they installed that way be default since reducing unsprung weight is a good thing? 'Cos some can't be used upside-down... they have to be manufactured to work that way, and only the expensive ones are... 😬
  8. I've got a jack, etc I no longer use... Can't see any numbers though! 😔
  9. Front stub axle... Anyway, found them: here (And Caterham do have them - but way more expensive!)
  10. Where can I get a couple of Hub Retaining Washers from? Google is failing me ☹️ Edited by - eugene on 13 Jun 2013 13:51:20
  11. I tried Green Stuff last time round... Never again! Mintex 1144 again now - much better!!! 😬

    Worried...

You may find you need a crane to lift the engine. It's portable, and a real help when doing engine based lifting / removal... It looks a lot like: here

Andy, I have an engine hoist you can borrow... 😬 Sorry to hear you had problems on the way home!!!
  14. Mintex 1144... A search of the archives will come up with the correct version for your 7. I got mine from Carl at 7 Speed! Edited by - Eugene on 11 Jun 2013 11:58:07
  15. Flat flooring should set corner weights. Altering the front ride height will change the front roll centre, which is really a separate adjustment not associated with a flat floor setup. See: here for some info I wrote years back... If the front is set too low you will basically get more over-steer. The rule of thumb for a seven still stands - parallel front lower wishbones 😬
  16. As has been mentioned a couple of times, as a rule of thumb the front lower wishbones should basically be parallel to the ground... Too much deviation from this will cause handling issues. If the sump clearance is low with this set-up, there is a problem elsewhere. How close to the bonnet is the top of the engine for example? Can the engine mounts be packed higher, if there is space below the engine?
  17. My BGH Type 9 Ratios: 2.920 1.860 1.295 1.000 0.850 With a 3.89 final I find them just about perfect... Edited by - Eugene on 10 Jun 2013 07:54:50
  18. I had a similar issue with the stack gauge on our Elise... As suggested, it was a bad earth. 😶‍🌫️
  19. Quoting zetec: Anyway its only 10bhp behind You want a bet on that!!! 😬 😬 😬

Yoko 021R 185/70/13... A great all-round road tyre, and very good in the wet too. 😶‍🌫️
  21. The images are old, and it's not an iPhone, but I use someting like this here. I now have an HTC Sensation running Sygic, in a vary similar holder, which just is made from easily bent aluminium sheet, covered with vinyl to stop scratches. Works perfectly, and shades the screen nicely at it's below the dash Held in place with Velcro.
  22. My fan kicks in at 98 deg... But I run a Zetec with a 88 deg stat!
  23. On Thursday I was caught in a thunderstorm (with hailstones) on the way back from Bristol to North Herts... with Aeros. So, no problem with wipers, but it bloody hurt! However, I was on the A338 to Wantage, which is a lovely road, but limited to 50... and the bad weather forced me to be making progress at 'slower' than normal speeds, which was just as well as on the county border a Le Flicks speed trap van was parked and in action... Phew!!!!
