    Bushes

The standard wear quicker... But, for most suspension part the standard are fine. The only place I use polly bushes is the A frame on my Ital axle - and the last set have been on for some 5 years plus.... the standard ones lasted 6 months max. 😶‍🌫️
  2. Yep, fit the 'hooks' at the bottom of the luggage ack over the spare wheel bar, behind the number plate,in front of the spare wheel, and the attach the top of the luggage rack to the spare wheel with the provided strap. Simples

    Half Hood

A hood??? What's one of them???

Oh go on then, I'll say it... GO AERO!!!! [ 😬 🥰
  5. Yep, just 'stiction' on the splines, and the bearing probably. Some do 'glue' the bearing in place as they can 'slip' so you may have that to overcome as well. Just need a bit of 'force'... 😬
  6. Eeeek! I HATE those things... Likely to be the cause of an accident if you ask me (not that you did - well, you kinda did really). 😔
  7. Funnily enough, I would suggest the dampers being too stiff (and the front anti-roll bar possibly), and the springs not stiff enough... Too many 7's are set for track use with stiff dampers, but with soft springs... which is a really bad combination on 'real' roads. As anyone who has followed Eugene on the road how well it handles - and that's with a live axle!!! 😬 😬 😬
  8. Bumper 'Back to Black' works a real treat too! 😬 😬 😬
  9. Ah - I though you had fixed them hitting the panels, but now had a knock that was different/had been masked by the panel knock???
  10. No, it's not the shock platform hitting the 7 body, but the internals of the shock 'topping out'... Basically, the shock reaching the end of it's travel as you have it already extended close to its limits. Worth checking the amount of travel extension you have on that shock compared to the other?
  11. Having a lovely live axle I can't comment on common or not, but it doesn't sound good to me!!!
  12. Is the off-side spring extended compared to the near-side, to allow for driver weight when setting up the handling? You may find the shock is over-extended and is 'topping out' (the opposite of bottoming out) when the wheel drops down a pot-hole. I have seen this before. Edited by - Eugene on 14 May 2013 11:47:04
  13. Do you have a fine mesh grill on the nose cone? I did notice a change in temp when I added that - I am going to remove it for a play...
  14. That's correct - I guess one day you'll upgrade to a fast road/race car... without all those unnecessary and overly heavy 'bling' bits 😬
  15. If you have HGF, then you have HGF... Nothing will 'fix' that, other than a new HG, and possible head skim. With a 'good' engine the coolant set-up I have is perfect, and will work 100%. As I say, no need for any drilling or tapping. 😬
  16. I have a 'sealed' system, with the expansion tank on the scuttle, using just the outlet from the thermostat housing, with a plain cap on the stat' housing, and pressure cap on the expansion bottle. No need for any drilling, etc, and works perfectly
  17. For heal & toe I actually find having the break pedal slightly lower than the throttle when depressed is better... The idea is to use the side of your foot to tickle the throttle when doing 'heal & toe'. At least, that's what works for me!
  18. If you have a sealed system, with closed cap (not a pressure cap) on the thermostat housing, and a pressure cap on the expansion bottle, it should suck back all the coolant in the expansion tank. But, if you run without a pressurised expansion bottle, then all the coolant will not be recovered. But, it does sound like an air leak in the coolant system somewhere... can you see any weeping of coolant from anywhere? Also, a HG failure check kit is cheap - one that changes colour if exhaust gasses are found in the coolant.
  19. I agree with John H... Check pressure cap (radiator expansion bottle cap) first. They fail with exactly that effect.
  20. I think that's what he said... 😬
  21. If the plugs under the rocker cover were leaking you would have water in the head, around the spark plugs, visible when the plug leads are removed from the plugs... It sounds more like a bad air blockage, or a leak in the system somewhere. It is very unusual fro Zetecs to suffer head gasket failure!
  22. I use, and love, 021Rs of 185/70/13 size - great all-round tyre. I run at 14.5 PSI
  23. I have the SVC replacement clusters - very, very effective! http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/mk2-housing---ultrabright-led/ 😬 😬 😬
  24. I've removed mine a number of times - can be done easily with care 😶‍🌫️ 😬
