  1. I have just been tasked by SWMBO to convert her Chesil Speedster to electric. There are loads of American kits around but they all use lead avid and 48 v forklift tech. Foes the panel know of any more modern conversions for cars around?
  2. I have a set of Freestyle AVO spring/dampers units for sale and the question of spring rates has come up. Gary was rather secretive about this, but colour coded them. I have blue on the rear and green on the front, does anyone have a list?
  3. I have a full set of AVOs with Freestyle springs. To suit a '92 wide track front and De Dion rear. Rebuilt by AVO last year £250 the set, posted.
  4. Hi Andy, I have a full set with springs if you're still looking
  5. Sorted. Thr rivets were too long on the back side.
  6. I'm fitting my new bonnet and have put the front catch hooks on. But the back bit of the rivet fouls the dzus fastener for the nose and won't allow the bonnet to get nice and close. Are they specials, or just short rivets to give less "slug" behind? Or am I thick?
  7. Update... Nuts here, too much chrome, off to machine them down tomorrow Rims clear the de dion tube, radius arms and arb The original nuts without washers fit enough to look at the rims and perv a bit 😬
  8. Thanks, that looks do-able
  9. Yes, I can see that. What would you say is an acceptable gap 'twixt rim and de Dion ear?
  10. I have just tried to fit up to check and... The de doing ear is AWFULLY. Close to the rim as Jon suggested, I don't fancy grinding them too much The studs come flush with the outer face of the centre, so all of the "inset" thread on these new nuts will be what secured the rim. I know these issues are surmountable, but I don't know if I'm in the mood
  11. At the time I didn't Pendennis 😬 calling Rally Design. The wheels have been crack tested and overhauled by MB, so I'm happy there too
  12. As an extra thought, where can I get the nuts as described?
  13. Thanks guys, that was quick! The nuts I'm thinking of are as per Delberts drawing, I just didn't know if the thread went down inside the mounting hole. I'll pick them up tomorrow so will check then and also have a check on my ears.
  14. Leccy pump and electronic ignition. I'll have a look at the idle jets I think. Edited by - nigel blandin on 23 Mar 2014 07:29:05
  15. I've appear to have picked up a lovely set of Barnbys butI'm now wondering if my studs are long enough. There is 20mm showing out of the hub. I know I need to get some stepped nuts as well. I don't really fancy replacing the studs...faff or what!
