  1. I know of one. I'll try and get all the information together and posted up tomorrow morning. I need to scan some documents with all the info on them firstly. Made by a club member.
  2. Not in a 7 but know of a few in some rally cars. Like everything I have heard very good and very bad. When people have been speaking to me at various shows about M Shift we find out about all the various box "issues". There is only one make of box I have not heard bad tales about. Its French
  3. Not sue Paul but at least "I'd certainly have warm tyres" 😬 😬 😬
  4. Simon - sorry busy on the other line when you called. Free now.
  5. It is completely wrong. The bolts are a perfect match to the sleeves. I do not know if the bolt sizes have changed on the metric chassis - I thought they had. So I guess you have 8mm bolt sleeves not 5/16ths Try Redline.
  6. Rich There has to be something wrong from Caterham end. "Just" in case measure both the upper and lower bolts and they should be 5/16ths. I suspect they are sending you metric sleeves. Simon
  7. Give me a call. I am just about to remove my Elite reverse box which is about 80 miles old and is direct drive forward and reverse dog to dog. Can run in either direction.
  8. Do you have any pictures/links to that type of install?
  9. With a snapped cam chain the busa is out and I noticed my second Cush drive is showing signs of ware. To be fair its lasted a complete season of Sprints and Hills. The first that came from Nova lasted just 4 events. This one was a BMW item. Alignment is spot on as I welded the reverse box mounts in place once all the props were fitted. I guess it depends on the type of work it has to do. One seasons sprints and hills can not be more than 60 miles. I will be removing the reverse box and installing the electric reverse solution. My prop man reckons the UJ would be fine particularly as splines these days tend to come with a rubberised coating eliminating metal to metal harshness. I am concerned a little about the main gear drive shaft though. It could just be worth the £35 to change it every year.
  10. My point is I do not believe there to be a "right" way for a Caterham. It very much depends on your cars use and seating.
  11. Engine out by 5:30! Cam chain snapped and wrapped around the back of the starter clutch and crankshaft. I'll ring Mistral on Monday morning. So glad I didn't take up Rob's offer ☹️
  12. Sorry Jonathan. I thought everyone saw sigs. Tessa works for/runs Prima Motorsport who make Titon Belts. She is my main contact although I have also met Mark the owner - he is generally busy with other business which is largely ropes and strapping for industry. Me - well I am Simon Rogers, Competition Sec for the Club and I run Meteor Motorsport. See back page of LF
  13. I have now sold a large number of these belts and Tessa's service is second to none. She does find that our orders are more specific as we have learn't what a given customer needs and requires given their particular car set up/seat type and car usage. She has never had a return for an alteration via ourselves. We do make some adjustments to some of the spec. over standard when we order. That's why we are different.

  15. What that he showed the French why he had the yellow trowel on the car 😬
  16. Nick Sorry I have read my post and it comes across a bit strong - didn't mean it that way. You are certainly correct that springs are a very affordable method of altering the characteristics of a car. I guess I am now so "involved" with the way dampers work that sometimes its easy to forget where I started. Adding to heavy 250lb springs to the front of my SLR - then the rear - then going in circles 😔 Perhaps its a right of passage 😬
  17. Ah - its all about budget Rob and given that I have no hope at Loton because of Mr Luke I was targeting my own time at Combe. Maybe I will leave the times/records stand and we can all have an Edward Lewis Hat 😬
  18. I would completely agree with Richard. Non adjustable dampers are set specifically for the matched spring. With a 'bird much like my Busa you can afford to run softer springs and keep the ride compliant. You would then need to replace the dampers. Nitron's new Street Series may be what you are looking for as they are competitively priced.
  19. I have not be told about any changes - which is a shame. If its the case then yes all records will be null and void. This affects our regs which is why we should have been told. I may reconsider entering if there is no record to be broken and points earned. ☹️
  20. Andy at PGM. VERY reasonably priced He has his own cutting machine so can make any alterations/variations to suit your own car.
  21. A new MBE 9A4 is only £545 + vat You get the same support as described for the Life unit.
