  1. My guess wasn't far off. Inner edge of the mounting holes are 16.5cm apart, outer edge are 21cm apart. The thread off the back of the headrest is 10cm long, if that is of interest. Let me know. Andy
  2. from the picture, looks like bracket is 22cm long, widest point prob 21cm narrowest maybe 16cm. I will measure properly tonight when i get home. I have the roadsport one now, special order from CC Parts as they were out of stock.
  3. ** SOLD ** Exhaust Heat Shield 6" diameter, 29 1/4 " long, with 3 exhaust clamps. This item came from a standard k-series car, but has same measurements/bracket points as my 1.6 Sigma. Used, but excellent condition, some stone chips on leading edge. £25 inc postage ** SOLD ** Catalytic Converter Heat Shield 6" diameter, 9 3/4 " long, with 2 exhaust clamps. this is from a 1.6 Sigma, may fit others. Used, but excellent condition, some stone chips on the main surface, on the lower (facing the ground) section. £25 inc postage Decided not to go black pack in the end, I`m happier as a polisher! Happy to discuss a deal for the pair and post together. Cheers, Andy.
  4. brand new, never fitted, purchased earlier this year from CC Parts, by mistake, but didnt bother with the hassle of returning. it's this part number - http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=3075 but the picture on the CC Parts website is wrong, as per description its the headrest + bracket for Superlight (SLR) cage (I wanted roadsport cage item, which is what the picture is of, with the angled bracket, this item has a straight bracket) so actually looks like this - http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=1901 £20 inc postage?
  5. i think it was 100 quoted (and so says the Magnificant Seven book), so yours is doing well still!
  6. Having decided I needed to join the Low Flying Aero Club when I acquired the car, I looked around at the various options, and kept a close eye on eBay for any bargains. As it turns out there appear to be a few differnt options, the small race screen that just covers drivers side (passenger side version available) that amounts into the scuttle (new holes required), a full width option that doesnt extend to the windscreen mounting points (R400 screen?), again new holes required, or the full width version that mounts into the windscreen mounting points, that makes fitting, and swapping with the screen simple. For these there are options for material, Caterham do black or carbon, and having lowered floors with tillets I was concerned amount the restriction of visibility that looking through/over one of these would provide. Then there is the Meteor Motorsport (Simon Rogers) Clear Aeroscreen, having seen a few of the ReHaB members with these and some sprinters, I decided this was the way to go for me. They dont tend to come up second hand, so I gave Simon a call and placed an order. Great service with description of fitting, and next day delivery. Removal of the windscreen was easier than expected. I had planned to cut the heated screen wires, but the spade connectors fitted under the dash just cleared through the holes in the scuttle. To get the stantion to clear the cut-off socket on the drivers side I needed to take the stantion off the screen. I dont think the screen has been off before, as appears to have been fitted to the car when the kit was delivered from pictures provided by the original owner/builder. I was surprised by the amount of gunk under the rubber trim, and after a wash, dry, t-cut and polish the extent of the scratches left behind, but all this is under the aero, so not that noticeable. Having placed the aero on the scuttle, I started to follow Simon's instructions: Position the aero on the car. Mark and drill one side. Fix it. Stretch it over and mark the other side. "Short" drill that side by a couple of mm and this will ensure when you put in the bolt you can stretch the screen tight. If the centre bracket is not quite the right angle then warm with hot air gun or hair drier and it will bend very easily. Mark and drill the centre mount. Fix centre mount to scuttle with poppers, rivet's or even 3m dyloc Velcro.I went a bit too "short" with my drilling and couldnt quite stretch to fit, so openned up the holes slightly, but still a very tight fit. I needed to adjust the angle on the centre bracket, as I dont own a hair drier (or heat gun) I used some boiled water in a bowl and this was enough to soften the plastic to add some angle. I`ve fitted the centre mount to the scuttle with the poppers, having bought slightly longer screws (no.6 5/8" to replace no.6 1/2") to cater for the width of the aero. Simon provides the nuts/bolts to connect the mount to the aero, and you can re-use the stantion bolts from the windscreen for the side mounts, I did add some washers on the outside (M8 25mm). Job done, now for the test drive... Meteor Motorsport - https://www.meteormotorsport.com/
  7. i went for the p-clip approach, and very please with the result, would recommend this!
  8. Shaun, thats what i thought, thanks for confirming. Guess its just time before recommended turns into a requirement
  9. I just spotted this thread and read with interest. I did a few sprints with the club 2008 to 2010, then sold my car. I've recently come back, and bought an ex-Academy car with cage, to come back into class 1. As a 2009 car it wasn't fitted for FHR/Hans. Do I assume we fall into specialist production category and therefore it's recommended rather than mandatory?
  10. I came to same conclusion last night, have ordered some p clips!
  11. Looks like this is the way to go ( either that or p-clips)... i have spa mirrors, and 32mm clamps, but the mirror mount holes are 6mm, and the diameter if the thread on the clamp is more like 7mm, are there thinner diameter clamps, or do I drill out the holes on the mirror mounts?
  12. Can I have pictures and measurements on the spare centre mirror, if still available?
  13. 3 months in to ownership and the MOT was due, which turned into a bigger job than expected. Having used Steve Williams Lotus previously i decided to entrust him with the job of some service items, and a quick MOT. It turns out the cambelt change on a Sigma isnt a simple job! Anyway, have enjoyed getting out and about in the Caterham. We got to attend my brother-in-law's wedding with a local car club who were asked to put on a display. Attended local L7C club monthly meeting (ReHaB mid-month May and June) in months 2 & 3 trips out - 10 miles - 200 jobs - created a satnav mount from a plastic plate stand and stick on velro. fitted half hood, yet to be deployed in anger (and packed away the main hood!) polished exhaust with autosol polished and waxed the bodywork fitted PH sticker (need L7C ones!) air filter peddle box check swapped wheels over, and got CR500's put on the 8-spokes major service + MOTpurchases - Yoko A539 tyres (on shabby minilights) cage-mount headrest Service bits (Fuchs oil, oil filter, alternator belt, cam belt, spark plugs etc)
  14. Hello to the Superlight R at Steve Williams Lotus, Maidenhead. He's had my orange + black Sigma for 3 days now doing cambelt and hopefully MOT tomorrow!
  15. as it says in the subject really, I`d like to get some white stick on race number squares for the sides and nose cone, i know i can get blank white vinyl, but would love some "Caterham Motorsport" branded ones to match my 2009 Academy. cheers, Andy.
  16. at 41000, on A539, 13" 60 profile, I`m still over reading a touch, annoyingly its indicated 70 = 68 (3%), indicated 40 = 37 (8%). I`m going to push it to 42000, but at that i think at the top end I`ll be spot on, but over reading at touch lower down.
  17. I'm a 2008 metric Sigma chassis registered in 2009, with driveshaft sensor
  18. mine was set to 38437, standard code for CR322's, as it was under reading when on these tyres, I`m going for the "trial and improvement" method, using my man maths, I`m going for 41000, currently on 60 profile Yoko A539's, and looking to get it fairly close to reality on these, so when I`m on CR500's it`ll be under read but not by much. hopefully will get chance to test it out tonight and report back!
  19. it was defo over reading a touch on the 70 profile tyres, on 60 profile speedo incidated 40 felt a lot slower. Doing some quick man maths, from tyre profile i think its about a 4% reduction in circumference, from what i remember of the speed difference (speedo to satnav) i calculate I`m about 14% off, and going to 55 profile will reduce another 2%. will check what setting the speedo is on, and probably apply a 10% tweak and see where that gets me!
  20. thanks, will give that a go, i was planning on a simpler approach to calculate circumference of 13" wheel + 70 profile tyres, and 13" wheel + 60 profile tyre, and use this as multiplier, will do the satnav speed trick as well and see what results i get.
  21. Sigma Academy 2008 build for 2009. Speedo has digital odometer, with rubber button on the front to change between total mileage to trip. Anything else i can tell you about it? rubbish picture, but looks like this (actual car)
  22. I`ve got as 2009 Academy car, and finally swap the 70 profile CR322's for a set of Yoko A539 60 profile tyres (also have a set of CR500 13" 55 profile tyres on wheels to use at some point). Having been out for a first blat on the A539's, speedo is obviously over reading now (against satnav speed). I`ve searched on here and found some threads on there being pulse settings in the electronic speedo, and being able to change the the setting to calibrate for the reduced tyre size, what i cant find is how to do this, and what settings to use.... tips/advice?
  23. i ordered this from Caterham Parts (currently out of stock): http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=4798 and this is what arrived hope that helps!
