  6. I`ve decided i want to have a go at a few rounds of the Speed championship this year, checking my calender it appears my wife has me booked for all dates but Curbs 2 and Anglesey. I remember reading somewhere that the entries for Curbs can be a bit limited, what are the chances of a newbie getting a slot? If its worth while I`ll get my MSA Non Race Nat-B application and championship registration form done ASAP. Car is Class 1 - 1999 Scholarship spec Vauxhall 1600, 8v with original Avon CR322! 15. i had heard this is standard.... i think something to do with the size of the wiper arms compared to what they use now maybe? I tried an old hacksaw on the old wiper blades, didnt do much! think i`ll invest in a new blade and have another go on these before attacking the real things! 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net - picasa albums
  16. whats the best technique? hacksaw? I`ve bought some of the new ones and they`re a bit longer than the old so go over the windscreen pillars. Cheers, Andy 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net - picasa albums
  17. couple of more pics in case it helps! linky #2 - the linkage from the front linky #3 - the linkage from behind the carbs 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net - picasa albums
  18. here's a piccie of my Vx1600 8v, scholarship spec linky spring to each carb, both springs are connected to the same point below the carbs... 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net - picasa albums Edited by - andysteele on 20 Apr 2008 17:54:42
  19. dont think my guy was that tall but he did mention that when he bought the car 2nd hand from Caterham that they did set the pedals up for him.... it`ll be back to standard soon anyway! 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net
  20. thanks for confirming things Adam. new throttle cable, pedal and pedal bush arrived yesterday, just got to get `em fitted now. 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net
  21. thanks for the link Chris, i like that idea. I have asked CC Parts to confirm this is the right part, if so i`ll get one. Will mean i replace the whole system, from the foot to the carbs! Cheers for all the help everyone! Andy 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net
  22. good idea, I`ll try McMillian.... then Caterham Midlands...... 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net
  23. sent the picture to Caterham parts, they havent got a clue what the extension piece is! anyone know what part number i should be asking for, to get the "proper" plastic extension? Cheers, Andy 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net
  24. cheers for that, I`m going to disconnect the cable and try the pedal on its own, think it needs a new cable anyway.... its only done 4k miles and worn this one out by the looks of it... not a good sign if i plan on using it for 2-3k miles a year! 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net
  25. dont think my carbs are quite as close as those on your HPC, Bob, but similar problem. Maybe that extension was put in for that reason, though I`m not convinced its right. Anyone out there with a Vauxhall 1600 who can tell me what theirs is like? I`m planning on disconnecting the cable to see if its the pedal operation that sticking or the cable itself, could be both! new cable and pair of return springs (just in case) on order! 1999 VX1600 Classic - andysteele.net
