  1. Sorry, I didn't see the prices at the end of the text. So, they've all been used, but in good condition and you want 16.50 Euros for each car plus postage. I'm struggling to match the German text with the English descriptions too, but the Afas, 917K's and the T70's are of interest to me. I would have has the 037. ☹️ Edited by - Tyrone on 2 Nov 2012 00:11:29
  2. Can you put prices to everything too?
  3. It's a Toshiba Satellite 110CS and all the boys at work are laughing at it! One small problem, it has no battery, so I'm going to need a very long power cable to map on the fly! 😬 It's working off the mains and it's running Windows 95. It has a floppy disk drive and two slots. So, if I have the right PCMIA Ethernet adapter I should be able to hardwire it to my router and download the MJ software on to the machine, shouldn't I
  4. The modem was using COM3, I've changed it to COM1 and changed the serial cable to COM3. Just have to see if it all works tomorrow morning.
  5. The COM ports on the modern laptops have mysteriously appeared now, so the old laptop might be unnecessary. I need to set up the serial/USB cable on COM3, it is currently on COM4. Device manager says COM3 is in use. What would be using it, nothing is listed in device manager. If I change the serial/USB to COM3 will that cause conflict elsewhere or stop something working.
  6. There is plenty advice on how to get data of an old PC. However, I am thinking of using an old laptop to map my megajolt on the fly rather than use the modern laptops we have in the house with Windows 7. So, I need to install the MJ software and maps on to the old laptop. The problem is the old laptop has a floppy drive, no cd and no USB ports. The new laptops obviously have no floppy drives. Could I use a serial/usb cable? I won't be able to install the cable drivers on the old laptop, but will I be able to push the files from the modern laptop on to the old one?

    Black smoke

T, It was a strong smell of pure fuel rather than someone running rich which my delicate sneck discerned. By the way, what colour is your car? I think it is the same colour as Paul McKenzie's car and it looks so good with clams. It's darker than mine.
  8. Brent already pointing me in the direction of 3.0.0 configuration software
  9. Ian, bearing in mind my recent misfortunes, there was no way I was going to be able to determine the extent of damage let alone try and fix it with the dash and the scuttle in place. I bit the bullet and took the scuttle off and have refixed with rivnuts and M4 bolts. Taking the scuttle off is initially daunting, but actually very easy. Drill out all the rivets between the bulkhead and the scuttle and the two large rivets holding the scuttle on to the chassis at the base of the dash then unbolt the offside and nearside retaining channels at the base of the scuttle. I bought a Laser rivnut gun from Amazon for about £20 and extra M4 rivnuts. I can't believe I've made do without one for so long! 😬 Just be careful not to over stress the M£ or M4 mandrels, I snapped mine and Laser are not geared up for individual customer service responses! 10. Aha! That will explain why mine didn't light up the other night.
  11. I've had a response from Brent already pointing me in the direction of 3.0.0 configuration software. I just need to see if my laptop picks up the serial cable and the Megajolt tomorrow.
  12. J, I've registered on the forum and put a post up, but it doesn't look like it is hugely populated. I will send Brent an email.
  13. I have an old Megajolt which runs on version 2.0.3 MJLJ software with needs the Java COMM API installed and configured. I've recently changed the carbs on my 1.8l Zetec silver top and would like to look at the map, but I don't have the software loaded on to my current laptop. I can see the V2.0.3 software, but I can't find any of the Java software I need for the serial port support. These are the instructions I had, but none of the links work: Install Serial Port support (Java COMM API) You need to download Sun java 1.4.2 from the sun site – www.java.com. You then need to transfer the following files to the directories shown. These 3 files are in the commapi directory in the “Megajolt java stuff” folder. For windows, download: Java Comm for Windows. - Copy comm.jar to c:Program FilesJavaj2re1.4.2_04lib - Copy javax.comm.properties to c:Program FilesJavaj2re1.4.2_04lib - Copy win32com.dll to c:Program FilesJavaj2re1.4.2_04bin The megajolt software is a java applet. You start it by double clicking the MJLJtune – 2.0.3.JAR file. Any help greatly received, keep it simple though, I'm no IT expert!
  14. Does anyone have a set or two going spare?
  15. I've got the same problem with some of my switches, from memory 3 or 4 of the 5 from heating screen to heater don't light up. I've cleaned the switches and the contacts to them, so I would be interested in a fix.
