I`ve had a problem with the throttle for a few weeks now, been getting progressively worse. After an amount of driving, 15 mins or so (time is getting less and less) ,the revs dont drop easily. I thought it was a carb issue but realised i can counter act this by putting my foot under the throttle pedal and pulling it back up.
I have checked the throttle return springs and these work fine when just pushing the throttles on the carbs. Today i took the pedal box cover off (for the first time).....
First thing i noticed is that once the cable comes into the pedal box it angles up about 20-30 deg. Where it attaches to the throttle pedal there is an ali extension piece, if this extension piece wasnt used the cable would be straight!
It appears this angle force on the cable has caused the cable to wear down the cable outer casing end. I`m not sure if the sticking throttle is due to the cable catching against the casing end or the pedal itself not pivoting cleanly, either way think i need a new throttle cable!
Is this the standard setup, looks like a new cable will suffer the same fate.

is this the correct setup for a VX1600 8v? Looks like i need a new cable, anything else?
Cheers, Andy.
