  1. An old first motion shaft is essential if you have a twin plate clutch. The standard aftermarket offerings can't synchronise the splines in the two plates
  2. Airlock looks probable but for peace of mind i'd replace the cap (theyre not expensive) O/E Rover part number: PCD100160 Halfords HRC606 0.8 to 1.2bar opening pressure. I have the 2ltr engine which always sprayed coolant when used hard on track. Fitting a swirlpot into the system cured that.. No sign that I can seeof oil in the coolant so a head gasket problem looks unlikely
  3. A mount for the rear exhaust box when fitted (if I understand your photo....)

  8. Yes, he's a really good guy to deal with.
  9. I doubt that titanium is any better in shear than high tensile steel. It sure is lighter though
  10. I rather like the fact that it looks ridiculous. It sort of makes a point about noise levels on pre existing circuits
  11. showing final exit curved pipe removed
  12. ive had a twin side mounted silencer setup for many years. i wanted something that was easy to fit at the circuit if i had problems with noise (260hp VX 16valve on throttle bodies). i have two raceco silencers mounted one on top of the other with the final exit disappearing under the car (makes trackside measurement very difficult for marshals!). below are figures taken by the marshals at donington Drive by after 4 laps with 1 Raceco side exit (not yet up to full speed and commitment) 99.6 db 99.5 db Drive by with twin Raceco silencers in the final 15 minutes (well up to full speed and commitment) 96 db lap after lap Drive by with twin Raceco silencers Donington 21.10.19 98 db quiet day and no problems

  19. Having mistakenly filled the Elise with high ethanol fuel on my way back after our trip, the engine ran ok but felt down on power,. Unusually, the engine stalled after every restart ( normally it just starts and ticks over). This is a bit left field for you but .....

    Dedion Ear covers

And use silicone to seal them when you reassemble
  21. A useful fix for a doubtful master switch is to superglue a small washer to the end of the key. This pushes the internal contact faces more firmly together. The contacts don't "wipe" together when the key is operated and so can oxidise. Putting more pressure on the contacts usually works
