  1. Obsessed or what ? (Thank goodness) Remarkable effort Andrew well done !
  2. Sadly it's not unusual with those vented discs. I'm on my second set (or is it my third?) with spares sitting in the cupboard. With hindsight it would be better if I'd fitted bells and replaceable disks. Initial cost is higher but disc replacement is (or was) lower. And they look nicer!
  3. ECR

    Crossflow Noise

I guess itll be the same as my VX which is offset. A perforated tube covered by fine stainless mesh. Packing of course
  4. Only way I can avoid being ejected on a lot of circuits !
  5. Did you tick the side airbag option when you purchased the car?
  6. I don't think that I have ever seen those caps with a threaded hole from new... I brazed a nut on mine which turned out to be not a very good idea as the heat required for brazing softened the cap to the extent that tapping the cap back in deformed the crown slightly. If I was repeating the exercise I'd try a rivnut.
  7. The description says that it's steel not alloy .....
  8. Many thanks Sam. Just what I needed. Didn't know that Simon could supply. I'll call him
  9. Anyone have the pad reference for the latest 4 pot front caliper? In the absence of a Mintex part number other manufacturers numbers should suffice as I can then cross reference
  10. I think that's what it's called, the type where you can still run with a full screen. How best to fit mirrors to it.?
  11. Damaged alloy sumps can usually be weld repaired as I know only too well ...
  12. If the tee is leaking, a run of solder should fix it. You would have to remove the valve to solder it though otherwise you'd never get enough heat into the part to melt the solder...
  13. You have captured my car spec pretty well identically although I do track days rather than sprints now. Brake pads are difficult to recommend I think as it's down to feel as much as stopping power. I've tried a few different pads but keep coming back to mintex 1144. I'm sure you'll get a host of different suggestions ....
  14. It's probably Comma's marketing John, would you put an "acid" in your car?
  15. I'm interested in those Sam. How much?
  16. Happy to accept 325.00 for the diff plus a further £500.00 for the fitted cwp. Totaling 825.00 FYI. Raceline are currently listing the cwp set at 690.00 and they're not in stock. It's a rare beast and sharpens up acceleration noticeably. This is a cased ready to fit unit
  17. ALI TONNEAU COVER KIT S3 LHS (UK/RHD). Currently painted silver grey £65.00 Collect only near Curborough. This is easily removable with just one bolt holding mine in. This then allows passenger access Btt
  18. Bearingkits are showing they have stock
  19. I'm sure they listed a type nine front cover at some time and it will surely be the same for a six speed
  20. The third bolt is there to satisfy msa requirements but it would be a smart scrutineer that spotted that one was missing above the damper
  21. It's not uncommon. The joint is designed to collapse under impact...
  22. Is it just rubber "flash" reducing the diameter? Drilling will clear it anyway...
