  1. Put some masking tape on your wheel over the scuff mark and drive again. View the tape after the drive
  2. Can't tell exactly where the touching occurs but on my 1990 chassis I found it necessary to take an angle grinder to the dedion end plate to give clearance on the wheels that I fitted
  3. Pete your sleeve solution looks very nice. Did it slide over the exhaust hooks on the end of the primaries? I ran with exhaust wrap for a few years but now run nude... When the wrap came off, the metal of the primaries had changed colour/surface texture quite noticeably and this brought to mind previous blatchat comments that suspected that the stainless had overheated and weakened the structure. I can't say this is true or not, any comments? (A quick google seems to disprove this)
  4. Large diameter shrink sleeve?
  5. Surprising! "all other things being equal, 95 octane has the potential to produce a smidgen more power than 99 octane."
  6. Are they a legal requirement? Are they required for mot? I have found conflicting views.....
  7. Thanks... how much of the 3560 do you use. I guess the more you use the harder it is to "peel" the plate...
  8. I don't think you need to feel bad Andrew. You've acknowledged a problem and are working fast to correct it. If only vehicle manufacturers reacted like this!
  9. If I use this, can I remove the plate reasonably easily?
  10. Don't use normal silicone, it fails ...
  11. Having left all my tool storage in France as it was expensive to bring back, I will soon need drawer units. Does anyone have experience of the above or recommendations for good quality alternative? Im not into SnapOn thanks!!
  12. Not seen that design of axle brace before, is it standard fit?
  13. I guess wherever the suspension loads are sideways which is pretty well every joint in the rear suspension. Every where there is a pivot point? I've only ever heard of them being used at the a frame/dedion joint though
  14. Use any template as a guide only! Start small and enlarge, trying pipes in position frequently. Leave enough clearance on pipes to accommodate engine rock. Patience is the key. it's actually not that difficult once you start...
  15. I would look on the inlet side of the block for a screwed in sensor

    Gearbox leak?

Have you bled the clutch (I assume it's a hydraulic clutch) If not, do that first. It sounds very like a clutch problem rather than a gearbox problem.
  17. Is the "warning light" in your Speedo dial? Does it illuminate when the ignition is on but the engine isn't running? Does it illuminate when your engine revs are very low?
  18. From dim and distant memory ..... the oem sender on the engine when fitted to the Vauxhall tintop had two push on connectors. One fed an oil pressure gauge and the other (I assume) fed a warning light. Does your sender have two connectors? As an aside, I'd strongly recommend fitting a non electric gauge. They're so much more reassuring
  19. Obsessed or what ? (Thank goodness) Remarkable effort Andrew well done !
  20. Sadly it's not unusual with those vented discs. I'm on my second set (or is it my third?) with spares sitting in the cupboard. With hindsight it would be better if I'd fitted bells and replaceable disks. Initial cost is higher but disc replacement is (or was) lower. And they look nicer!

    Crossflow Noise

I guess itll be the same as my VX which is offset. A perforated tube covered by fine stainless mesh. Packing of course
  22. Only way I can avoid being ejected on a lot of circuits !
