    NEW CSR

Personally, looks a fantastic car. Pity I'm buying a new house. The CSR 200 is my new caterham of choice, that looks a good un. Best of luck with the sale.
  2. See you point/ Not really thought about that one. On track, i would say no. On a road, I wouldn't have thought that often.
  3. Some thing I have thought about on many occasions with these BEC's. Given that the clutch used is designed to be hand operated, why dont you just fit the clutch on the gear lever?? I would have thought that would have been a good plan for a few reasons; Firstly, leaves you able to use a two pedal set up like an F1 car so you can left or right foot brake. secondly,Starting would be easier to slip /control the clutch, thirdly, if the lever was on the correct side, say in front of the gear stick then as you pulled back to change down you would automatically grab the clutch , then when you push the gerar stick to shift up ,the lever would be out of the way as you don't need a clutch on a bike upshift. What are your collective thoughts, good idea or bad??
  4. I don't think it'll fit in the MR2 though 😬
  5. Al, its yours. Let me know when you want to pick it up.
  6. Will somebody please come and take this Bl00$Y thing out of my garage. I can't do delivery it weighs a lot. I'm down in south wales about 20mins from Cardiff. If your feeling generous, i'll relieve you of £60. Comes free with an engine leveler thingy. I just got to get it out of my way. 😬

    Mortgages

I'll give you a fiver . One time off. not to be repeated.
  8. I'll echo, what has been said. I felt a little hollow once i'd finished rebuilding my car. But I'll go witht he others as well on the drive it first. You may just change your mind. Oh yes Congratulations for you and your wifes new addition. I think your mind will be elsewhere for a while.
  9. Stop shouting Dave, I've got a head ache. 😬 Nice car, best of luck with the sale.
  10. It's a large, although a small large. I've always found it a little cramped, that's why I'm selling. Brilliant bike, you just sort of point it down a hill and hang on 😬 . Pretty good going up as well. Funny enough, I annoyed some x country whippets on hardtails yeaterday by asking them to move over on a technical climb 😬. I'm of to buy a cannodale rize carbon 1 😬

  12. David, i put 185 on a 7" rim once. Stretched it big time. Was a complete bitch to seat. Did not work. took them off. So from that expierience i would say smaller tyre on bigger rim would not go.
  13. I also used a superclutch slave cylinder. It failed me once in 4 years. So not too unreliable, but then I only ever did about 1000miles a year.
  14. Paul , I stand to be corrected here, but the clearance is to allow the plates to ware. When this hppens the diaphram will move out to take up the slack, so to speak. one every thing is together the clutch release will stay against the diaphram, as the clutch wares it will push the slave cylinder back. The first time I installed mine, I did not allow for the clearence, as the clutch wore the slave 'bottomed out' and the clutch began to slip due to the clutch dragging.
  15. The hardest t hing to get used to on a mutiplate clutch is the harshness of the pick up. The plates tend to not have torque springs to absorb the drivelind chatter, so when the clutch bites , they bite. I had a 7.5 superclutch fitted to my car. Fine on track and hooning about, but a right PITA in traffic. No travel on the clutch pedal and heavy. In the end i re drilled the clevis pin on the clutch pedal to master cylinder to increase the pedal travel a little, I was then able to perform hill starts with out several thousand revs and lots of wheel spin. 😬 No longer RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  16. I'll Ask my Brother. He manages to get F1 tubs to withstand lots of forces made from carbon fiber.
  17. Which tank are you using MIke? I used the tall thin one from SBD. This left just enough room to fit the battery down the bottom on the chassi rail between the sideskin and the tank. I made a little carrier for it, worked well.
  18. Not wishing to hamper Dave's sale, but, Paul I tried one on these on mine, same layour as the swindon trumpets you have. Would not fit at all. As you said fouled the wheel arch.
  19. I had the old front damper pick up on my car. Changed from standard to wide, did not extend dampers. They work, although I needed quite a bit of pre load to get the ride height acceptable, and the was very little drop. But it did work fine.
  20. My car, sorry ex-car. Was running SBD 225cams with hydralic lifters. If my memory serves me correctly I bought the cams from Paul D. Enigine made 227bhp /177lbft on Steve G's rollers. Standard zorst is carp. I plumped for SBD manufatured by BTB. Best upgrade of the lot though was fuel injection. Even before I did ANY work to the engine, I put that on. NOt really any more power, alittle at the top, but not what Steve broughton would lead you to belive, but the engine was SOOOO much nicer to drive and responsive. No longer RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  21. Never really noticed the need for anti roll bar on mine. Improved handling on road. TBH, never really got any chance to set it up properly for track, so can't honestly say whether it was better or worse. No longer RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  22. Side wall on 205 /40 is 82mm side wall on 215/35 is 75.25mm Given that most car manufactures us a 6.5J rim for a 205, then I would have thought a 215 would fit without any problem on a 7" rim. here Edited by - Gambo on 13 Jun 2008 08:01:26
