  3. I had a soft bits half hood, And yes they are great. On cooler days, and a little bits of rain, But 'proper' wet roads they are a disaster afaic. Only tried it once, I had a cockpit FULL of mist as the spray tumbled in from the back. It got soo bad after about 30 mins, I could not see the dials as they were covered in water and unfortunatly, whilst the wipers were doing the best they could on the outside, they don't work on the inside of the car. The visibility was non existant, I had to keep wiping the screen with a towel. 😔 So for me. A half hood was definatly NOT a wet weather cover. No longer RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
  4. not surethey do a solution for the front though ☹️
  5. As we all know, we can get a 205 on a 8.5 rim. You can get yoko A048 in 225/50 15. they will fit a 9" rim, as that is what is fitted to my old mans Quattro sport, and those are the tyres he has fitted. They are not too stretched, infact they work very well.
  6. WELD IT 😬 😬 *tongue* Sorry not helpful
  7. Well my two penneth, I used to jack mine up on the rail Behind the crucifix. that has two diagonal braces comming down from the top rails of the chassis. My little brain worked out that the loads would be shared between the two welds at the end of the rail, Pulling the braze joints, and compressing the joints on the top rail.
  8. Tim, you can get the SBD can to fit a standard collector. I took mine to a local fabricator, he cut the 1 pipe off of the 4 into 1 and welded the correct size outlet on. He needed to cut into the collector. It worked fine.
  9. Paul, not wishing to bang on about what has been mentioned, but 4K plus revs off the line would have seen me sitting in a great pile of smoke in my Vx. I like dave used to use about 2.5 to 3K to get mine up and running.

  11. or with out cage just roll bar crash+head+ othercar body/floor/post/ tree/ kerb/ other solid object = death You crash one of these little cars, it's more luck than anything else if you walk away safely. Mind you , the same could be said of most convertable cars.
  12. Might be a bit severe, but why not do what they do with new cars and fit transport blocks in the springs. Jack car up to require ride height insert a block and away to go.
  13. I know it's not helping , but that looks a very tidy car for the money. You must be sorry to see her go. 😔
