  8. My VX did . I bled it from the top of the radiator. there is a little alen key just undo it, he presto lots of air. 😬 better to blow it up trying, than ware it out!
  9. 7heaven let me know if you got the e-mail i've not done it before, so I might have sent it to oblivian. better to blow it up trying than ware it out!
  10. I may be doing myself out of a sale here ,but there is another way to increase the ride height on standard billie's.if yours are the same as mine, then there are raidial groves around the body of the damper. there is a circlip which holds the spring platform in place. if you move the circlip up one grove then this will increase your ride height. best to do front and rear the same so as not to upset your rake. Finally. yes the treaded bit is your adjustable platform. my car runs some preload has not caused any problems yet. hope this helps better to blow it up trying than ware it out!
  11. Ride height is usually measured frim the chasis. but I always set my height by how much clearence I am prepared to give my sump. currently 55mm *eek*although that is a bit low as it grounds on my drive. so its going up soon
  12. I have got aspare set of adjustable platforms if you want them.
  13. Before I dry sumped my VX I used to overfill a little as the sump pan is very shallow and you do not want to miss the oil when cornering !! what I foun though is if you did it too much the engine spat it out of the breather.nice and messy. in the end got fed up with oil pressure problems and farting around with knowing exactley how much to put in and dry sumped it. SBD kit(make sure he gives you all the parts to start with) and hey prestomuch better job. + 5-6BHP extra inprocess. you see on the standard sump the crank is sitting in the oil, so it drags.

I should be more clear, I sprint my car. good fun not too expensive ,and good dy out. but it's one of those things I guess, that as time goes on, and you look fore more speed and quicker times because they no longer fall, you look at the car and say how do I make this go around faster? more power, better brakes? or improve the suspension or swap for a better car,or better driver. I have done most things to the car, I'm stuck with the driver though(me). the power is the expensive bit. so do I carry on with the current car or upgrade? (money permitting of course)

ultimatly, I just want to go FASTER! I can get v close to the SLR's (quick drivers) at the moment, so i guess i'm just woundering whether would it be more economical to sell up and buy an SLR or tune the HPC. already done brakes, flywheel, and 7.5" clutch.? power as said is standard 175-180 on carbs.

Just thinking of what to do next. currently own a 95 HPC standard engine, wide tracked, running 13" wheels with 032's. Freestyle susspension. No screen, heater weighing in at 554KG's. I am thinking of either tuning the engine, or using the money towards an SLR or suck K-series trum. so I get to the question. Does anybody know how much faster an SLR is round say Castle coombe than a well set up HPC?
  19. I've got a1995 HPC with image 3piece on. 7.5 inch diameter. had to grind off dedion bar. to reverse the anti roll baris easy, just unbolt it and fit to back side of bar,and back side ofde dion pick. I had no problems with the rear calipers fouling though? .I agree with last bloke , speak to CC about that one. I found that running without rear roll bar gives far to much understeer with the old lump out front.
  20. I had a similar problem when I went to 032's with my hpc. Bought nice new image wheels, different ofset front to rear. This had the effect of increaseing the rear track in relasion to the front. caused no end of understeer, untill I wide tracked the car. that seemed to have sorted the car. the theory is that a car's front and rear track should be the same or slightly wider on the front, to help turn in. might be talking B**&L£cks but my car is better now.

    HPC 16V rebuild

I had the same problem with my HPC. Turned out to be the crank sensor, make sur you have not crimped or kinked the lead, that is what happened to me, it gave hours of fun to find it. Changed sensor fired straight up.
